Lamar Jackson injuries over the years has been weird. Twice in the last 4 years, he’s had to publicly set the record straight on the severity of his injuries. The optics are not good.

Nah! Let’s just blame EDC anyway
Nelson is due ~$10M for the balance of the yr. Ravens only have ~$1.2M in Cap space, so they would have had to restructure a deal or two or asked the Colts to eat some salary (which then have probably cost a 2nd). Seattle had enough Cap space to make the deal w/o Colts eating $.

Ian Rapoport doubles down on his reporting on the ankle injury of Ravens QB Lamar Jackson “I had said it was not a typical high ankle sprain, it is not. But they told him it was a high ankle sprain because it’s not low, it’s fine”

Great questions concerning the defense! I’m an optimist
Podcast: @RavensTalkPod and I continue our discussion of the #Ravens defense vs the Bengals, including individual notes, your mailbag questions, and a look at where the team goes from here. filmstudybaltimore.com/defen… #Ravensflock @1057TheFan

I’d steer clear of comparing the compensation of Jurgens and Nelson. Jurgens is under contract on a team friendly deal until 2029 whereas Nelson is about to sign a massive contract

Almost a Raven
Trade: The #Colts are sending eight-time Pro-Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the #Seahawks, per @AdamSchefter and me. Nelson is on an expiring contract and the Colts get back draft capital now before they could lose him in free agency. A Colts legend goes to the champs.

NFL strength of schedule to-date thru 7 weeks, easiest schedules of opponents: 1. Vikings 2. Ravens 3. Giants 4. Jets 5. 49ers hardest: 32. Dolphins 31. Broncos 30. Patriots 29. Chargers 28. Bucs

The “bad” GM that doesn’t know how to protect Lamar is about to use more draft capital to protect Lamar
The 49ers, Broncos, Browns, Eagles, Giants, and Ravens are among the teams to inquire about trading for Quenton Nelson. The Colts won’t be able to obtain a 2027 1st for Nelson, but a 2nd-round pick certainly seems feasible.

I was half joking. I’ve complained all season that these players lack leadership on the field. No pride on Sunday
Replying to @RavensTalkPod
I have to disagree, Sam. He’s not the 1 wearing pads and whiffing on tackles

Yep
An all-too familiar mystery in Baltimore: The confusion around Lamar Jackson’s health. The Ravens are optimistic that star QB returns Sunday in Buffalo and they badly need him. nytimes.com/athletic/7728142…

Bullet dodged but still sucks
#Ravens first-round guard Vega Ioane, one of the NFL’s best rookies this season, suffered an MCL sprain against the #Bengals, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. It’s considered to be a short-term injury, though he will miss a little time.

Blake Corum would be an excellent fit in Doyle’s system! I agree with Qadry, Henry is not a scheme fit.

Jesse Minter said the Ravens are looking for the guy on the sideline who can step up and provide more leadership, maybe say something to stop a snowball effect.

We’ll know more Sunday at 11:30am
On optimism level for Lamar Jackson, Minter said, "Lamar is working his butt off to be out there. He'll be in a decent spot, but we'll know more on Wednesday."

Trade Marlon Humphrey before the deadline. I’m not even overacting. It’s time to move on,
