On the 22nd of August, 2026. I drew the attention of the police authorities and the general public to a matter involving the Nigeria Police Force and one Jeremiah Oguji
@RbrnJerry. Where the complainant alleged that his Lexus RX350 with registration number: KSF634HJ was stolen and was subsequently recovered by men of the Nigeria Police Force. After which, he proceeded to the police station to identify the recovered vehicle. After identifying the car to be his and tendering all the necessary documentation to support his claim he was asked to pay the sum of NGN400,000 which he did and was asked to go and come back at a later date to take possession of the vehicle. On arriving on the date given to him by the authorities, he was told his car has been sold.
The matter was reported at the Force Headquarters and the officers allegedly involved were directed to report for investigation. Months later, they reportedly failed to appear, citing lack of transport fare.
On the 22nd of August 2026, I publicly called the attention of the Police authorities to the matter on X. The authorities immediately reached out to the complainant and directed him to appear at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, today 27th August 2026, for questioning.
We are also aware that the complainant has been receiving threats, and I have equally received threats for drawing attention to this matter.
This is therefore, to bring to the notice of the Police Authorities that the public is aware of today's meeting and is watching closely.
We demand that the complainant be protected, that his complaint be properly investigated, and that a lawful and satisfactory resolution be reached.
Should anything happen to the complainant, or should this matter be swept under the carpet, it will not be game as usual, the authorities should understand that we will not remain silent. We will explore every lawful means available, including peaceful protest, to demand accountability.
This matter is now in the public domain. We are watching!!
