Based purely on numbers, I would interpret this as a positive development for Saquon Barkley's status.
After these transactions, the Eagles have 2 RBs on the active roster (Saquon Barkley, Dameon Pierce) and 1 RB on the practice squad (Elijah Mitchell).
They go with 3 for gameday. Unless they add someone else to the practice squad or active roster this week, it's a good sign for Barkley.
The Eagles waived RB Jaydon Blue and waived/injured Carson Steele.
That opens two spots on the active roster.
They signed RB Elijah Mitchell to the Practice Squad and released C James Brockermeyer and RB Ian Wheeler from practice squad.

Just spoke to Jalen Hurts’ agent, Nicole Lynn, who clarified that while Hurts was up until early Sunday morning getting evaluated at a hospital, he was able to sleep upon rejoining the team and the Eagles set aside a room for him at the stadium. Videos from the stadium show Hurts coming onto the field just before kickoff and he felt rested enough to play.

So Tom Pelissero (who was notably not part of the ESPN and NFL Network merger and is now with The Ringer and Netflix), was the first one to report the awkward framing of Jalen Hurts’ commitment to football and how he stayed awake for 36 hours following doctors orders before playing against the Jaguars in London.
Then Pelissero conveniently gained more clarity from Hurts’ agent, Nicole Lynn, regarding his earlier report and tweeted out his updated report literally two minutes before Eagles HC Nick Sirianni was scheduled to talk to the media.
Once Sirianni started his press conference (which was also 25 minutes late), Sirianni managed to immediately reference Pelissero’s updated report the first time that he was asked about Hurts not sleeping for 36 hours before playing.
