Putting terrorists and aggressors on the same moral plane as their victims and targets is repugnant. At best it whitewashes horrible crimes, at worst it feeds the culture of murder and martyrdom that Hamas espouses.
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.
The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.
Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.
To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

Three years ago today, an attempted genocide on the Jewish people took place. Rather than the world uniting with the Jews against a common enemy of humanity (Islamic terrorists), the West decided that Hamas (Gaza) was deserving of our full empathy and the Jews were the ones committing a "genocide." The inversion of reality is beyond what Orwell or Kafka could have imagined. The explosion of global Jew-hatred post October 7 highlights a very ugly reality: Scratch the surface and you quickly sink into the infinity pool of arguably the oldest hatred known to mankind.

I have been advised that it might be helpful if I explain what kinds of things make me suspicious and thus merit greater hesitation and scrutiny as a service against psyops.
In this case, a sudden "reflexive" push where lots of people, notably people who are networked with one another, start giving the same explanation all at once in a kind of wave is a red flag for an information operation.
It isn't proof. It isn't definitive. It means you should be more skeptical and watch more closely, especially before jumping on board.
So many people are connecting the cancelled USAID money to the elections in South America that I went from believing it might be the explanation to being incredibly suspicious of it as the explanation in like an hour.
