When I've spoken with @ZackPolanski, I've found him to be a deeply compassionate and conscientious politician.
I'd therefore implore him not to water down the factual statement that "Zionism is racism". If he or the Greens do, my support and that of million of others ends here.
NEW: Zack Polanski backs two amendments which would water down the “Zionism is Racism” motion being debated at the Green Party conference, Sky News understands.
The amendments, which have been selected for a vote, pushback on the call for a single Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and add safeguards for Jewish members who are part of institutions that describe themselves as Zionist.
Polanski has previously said amendments of this nature would make it a better motion. The final conference agenda, seen by Sky News, confirms four have been selected to be heard. It's understood Polanski backs amendment 1 and 3, which address self determination and the protection of Jewish members.
