It is a NATO security agreement that keeps Greenland under Danish sovereignty, protects Greenlanders’ right to decide their own future, and brings Greenland in as a full signatory. Yes, it expands the us military presence, but Denmark and Greenland say the purpose is to strengthen Arctic security together, while keeping Russia, China and other non-NATO powers from gaining a foothold.

Belarus cannot realistically replace Canadian potash for the us. Canadian supply is next door, tied into established rail networks and decades of reliable farm delivery. Belarusian potash would have to travel through congested Russian rail lines, reach a Russian port, cross an ocean, then be moved inland again, via massive shipping costs. That is more distance, more risk, more middlemen, and ultimately higher costs for American farmers. trump can announce a “deal,” but geography does not negotiate. Replacing Canada with Belarus is not an economic strategy. It is a costly political stunt that puts the us food supply in the hands of an authoritarian regime and makes groceries more expensive for Americans.
