Twenty-five years ago, New York suffered an unimaginable loss, but the patriotism, resilience, and unity that followed can continue to serve as a guiding light through moments of devastation. My condolences and prayers remain with the loved ones of those killed in the attacks of September 11th, including over 200 people from Westchester County and the Bronx, as we remember that harrowing day and those who continue to live with its consequences.

I joined with the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and local elected officials to officially dedicate Kensico Green as the “United States Congresswoman Nita M. Lowey Community Green” to ensure that her legacy will be remembered for years to come. May her memory be a blessing.

I am proud to have signed the discharge petition to force a vote on @RepRaskin's NO CARTE BLANCHE Act. This will ensure no taxpayer-funded slush fund can be implemented and explicitly blocks payments from the Judgement Fund, a pre-existing account for settlements with the United States, from going to people who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
The American people deserve their tax dollars not to go towards bailouts for violent insurrectionists, and I look forward to voting on this legislation once it reaches the floor.
