The tragedy of 9/11 is marked in our hearts forever, along with memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost and the unmatched heroic efforts at Ground Zero. While America’s sense of peace and security was shattered that day, our resolve did not lay in ruins. In the aftermath, our great nation united like never before, standing firm in the face of tyranny. I will never forget arriving in New York City after the attack with a congressional delegation to examine the toll of terrorism. It was a deeply somber walk through the rubble, seeing American heroes still at work. In that moment, the immense task of rebuilding and strengthening our homeland became our sacred mission. On this 25th anniversary, let us not only remember, but let us resolve to keep the American spirit alive and well for future generations.

House Republicans just passed a bill extending federal funding through December 4, 2026. It was clean and simple, ensuring there is no lapse in funding and preventing a government shutdown, yet 205 Democrats voted against the bill. @HouseAppropsGOP already passed ALL 12 federal funding bills, three of which have passed the House. Still yet, the end of the fiscal year is rapidly approaching on September 30th. This extension simply provides more time, if necessary, and avoids the chaos of last year's Democrat-led shutdown.
