Ok, Talarico. I have a question: what do you truly believe?
In 2022, he told donors that eating meat was an "existential threat" and pledged that his campaign would be completely meat-free out of "fairness." But once he launched a statewide campaign across Texas, his team posted photos of him eating turkey legs at the State Fair and hosting campaign events at barbecue joints. Existential threat in 2022, brisket in 2026.
In 2021, he begged his legislative colleagues to kill a bill keeping biological males out of girls' sports. Yet recently on Fox News, he flipped and said he opposes male athletes in women's sports. He now calls his past statements "cringey" or claims he "missed the mark."
Same thing with his “faith.” Talarico doesn't just claim to be a Christian; he uses Jesus as his ultimate political argument. When Texas debated placing the Ten Commandments in classrooms, he declared it was "deeply un-Christian." And that is the core of the problem.
If your principles shift the moment a statewide poll hits your desk, from "existential threat" to brisket, from "hate" to Fox News talking points, then your faith is nothing more than just another campaign costume.
