3 years ago today. I’ve participated in quite a few exchanges on the Rules Committee. This remains, by far, the most baffling one.

We’ve only had 72 days in session this year. Under Republican leadership, this is the laziest & least effective Congress in American history.

Industry leaders are sounding the alarm on AI, begging for Congress to put safeguards on them. The American People are struggling with an affordability crisis caused by Trump’s stupid tariffs & his reckless war of choice with Iran. Diesel prices are at an all-time high. Gas is through the roof. We’re burning billions of dollars on a reckless war that’s claiming American lives. And @SpeakerJohnson is sending us home. Again. Because he cares more about his members campaigning to get reelected than solving the major issues facing our country. It’s pathetic.

AI experts say there’s a greater than 10% chance their technology could wipe out humanity within a decade. Even a fraction of that possibility is unacceptable. So what are Republicans doing about it? Absolutely NOTHING. Totally unfit to lead.

Congress should be working to put safeguards on AI & address the affordability crisis. Instead, @SpeakerJohnson is sending his conference home to campaign. It’s disgusting.

Trump promised (and failed to deliver): ❌Lower gas prices ❌Cheaper groceries ❌$5K DOGE “dividend” checks ❌$3K tariff checks OF COURSE no one’s getting his $5K bribe. It’s total BS, corrupt as hell & an insult to folks who need REAL HELP to survive in his failed economy.

Republican’s priorities are all wrong.

Since Republicans took control of Washington, gas is up $1.21, inflation is up nearly half a percent, and the cost of diesel is at an all-time high. Are you better off today than you were two years ago?

With just 4 days to legislate before Speaker Johnson sends Congress home for another 7 weeks, our Republican colleagues have decided to prioritize legislation that weakens environmental protections for our kids and communities.

House Republicans have cancelled votes for the next two months. The next scheduled vote after this Thursday? November 9th. Seriously.

Folks are struggling to pay for basic necessities. But after a month-long break, @HouseGOP’s first order of business is to jam through a meaningless resolution screaming about “socialism”—which they can’t even define. November can’t come soon enough.
