🚨 Austria just answered on FSD Supervised.
Not a yes. Not a no. A holding pattern.
In a letter dated 29 September 2026, Austria’s mobility ministry (BMIMI) told a citizen this:
• Austria will not say how it will vote in the TCMV.
• The technical review is ‘not finished’.
• They are rewriting the Automated Driving Ordinance to include DCAS, manufacturer-neutral, not Tesla-specific.
• Even an EU green light may not switch FSD on in Austria the next day.
• There is still no date for the national amendment.
Slovenia, next door, already recognised the Dutch approval and started rolling FSD out to customers. Croatia joined the list the same week this letter was sent.
Eight EU countries have moved. Austria is waiting for Brussels and for its own ordinance.
New tech does not become safer by staying locked one border further north.
BMIMI, publish a timeline. Put DCAS in the ordinance. If the safety case is good enough for the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Czechia, Slovenia and Croatia, say what is still missing in Austria.

An update on FSD Supervised in Europe
FSD is currently approved in five EU countries (NL, DK, BE, EE, LT), used by >70k customers for over 1 million km per day, and is 4.1x less likely to get into a crash compared to manual driving, measured across 100 million km on public EU roads.
Leading up to a potential EU-wide approval vote for FSD Supervised on October 6th, 2026, we have decided to open-source one of the key pieces of evidence used to support the Netherlands approval.
As a reminder, we adjusted the FSD design to be compliant with existing regulation (UN-R-171 DCAS) but requested an exemption for certain behaviors via the EU Article 39 procedure. The following dashboard is evidence of safety for those exemptions.
This exact dashboard was shared with all EU Member States in April 2026, shortly after RDW’s approval, and all data presented is from before that date.

European countries recorded 19,400 road deaths in 2025. That's around 53 deaths/day, with the vast majority of these crashes attributed to human error. These deaths are largely preventable with technology we have today.

Knob mirroring on the S3XY Dash is finally here and it works great. Everything you do on the Knob now shows up cleanly right in front of you. Big improvement.
Dash also got some nice upgrades (CarPlay/Android Auto scroll wheel control + better nav widget with ETA), but still no Tesla navigation map mirroring. Hope that’s coming next, because running CarPlay nav alongside Tesla nav isn’t ideal when they’re not in sync.

Tesla has officially launched Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) capability for all Model Y Premium trims in the U.S.
This means that you can now use your vehicle’s battery and the Tesla Outlet Adapter to power other devices and appliances including space heaters, power tools, camping gear, fans, etc, with Tesla's $80 Outlet Adapter.
It's also now live on Tesla's online vehicle configurator (second pic below), and it lets you select the adapter during the config process. Since there is no "only Model Ys produced as of" date listed for the capability, presumably all Premium Model Ys have this V2L capability, but I will let you know if I hear anything different.

UNECE June WP.29 World Forum report

The report reveals the voting totals for the new ADS UNR and the DCAS UNR update as well as confirming the new ADS GTR was established and which countries voted for it (see screenshots below).
The new ADS UNR (regulation 185) received 39 votes with none against and no abstentions.
The DCAS UNR Series 02 update (regulation 171) received 38 votes with none against and no abstentions.
To quote the report, item 113, the new ADS GTR "was established in the Global Registry of the 1998 Agreement on 24 June 2026 by consensus vote of Australia, Canada, China, EU, Japan, Republic of Korea, Nigeria, Norway, Russian Federation, Türkiye, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, United States of America. Albania, Azerbaijan, and Tunisia abstained from voting".
Note that the USA is in that list of countries. They are signed up to the UNECE 1998 agreement and they implement GTRs. NHTSA have been amongst those helping to develop the ADS regulation.
The UNRs have the usual 6 months hiatus and will come into force in January 2027. More specifically, the DN for the new ADS regulation shows the regulation was received by the Secretary General on 28 July, so I expect this to be in force on or around the 28 January 2027. We will get another DN, probably in early February, which will confirm it is finally in force.
There was no mention of the ADS GID in the report and no sign of this document on the website for this meeting so it's looking increasingly like it's approval has been delayed. It will probably now go to the November meeting as an informal document and then on to the March meeting as a formal document for final approval.
Finally the GRVA FADS task force has completed its work and formally closed. They submitted 92 documents to the June WP.29 World Forum for adoption votes. The final status report is here unece.org/transport/document…

🚨 My current theory on why we still don’t have the new FSD with the Summer Update on HW4 cars in any FSD country:
I think Tesla is already rolling the latest FSD builds (v14.3.x / Summer Update stack) in the US, but in Europe they’re still stuck on the older v14.2.2.6 branch on purpose.
My guess is that the RDW approval from April is tied to a specific software version. Any big jump in neural net or driving behavior probably needs fresh review or testing before they can push it. That’s why the regular Summer Update features can start appearing, but the actual FSD improvements haven’t shown up yet in the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark etc.
It feels like Tesla is waiting for the green light from the regulators before they can freely update the FSD stack the way they do in North America.
Just my personal speculation of course, but it would explain the long silence on new FSD for European HW4 cars.
