- It lays bare the destruction of neighbourhoods in Gaza and the expulsion of communities, tantamount to ethnic cleansing.
- It spotlights other horrors — the continued killing and maiming, the blockade that pushed Gaza into famine, and torture.
- It exposes violence and displacement in the West Bank.
- It highlights the climate of impunity for violations by the Israeli authorities in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
This must be de-normalised.
Wars have rules. International law matters.
I echo Volker Turk’s words: “Impunity is not abstract – it kills. Accountability is indispensable. It is the prerequisite for a just and durable peace in Palestine and Israel.”

Workers led by Kilusang Mayo Uno and Free Our Unionists held a protest in front of the Department of Justice to call for the immediate release of Marklen Maojo “Maoj” Maga.
On the 8th year of Maoj’s imprisonment, the workers and FOU called on fellow workers and citizens to continue taking action until all political prisoners are freed and all fabricated charges are dismissed.
The groups also asserted that Rodrigo Duterte deserves to be imprisoned for his crimes against the people, including grave violations of workers’ rights.
