Today would have been my 18th Wedding Anniversary.
To the young men I have reach with "Never ever mistake Lust and Ego for Accomplishments and Life Goals..." She was my Lioness and Now I roam alone.
She was my lioness.
The real king of the nest. Not loud.
Not crowned.
Just certain. Hunter in the dark.
Shield of the tribe.
Eyes that could hold a whole man together 4ever
and still see through him. Her instinct ran deeper than my pride.
When I started to fall,
she felt it first.
She put her body between me and the ground
and called it love. I called it enough.
Then I called it small. The king wandered too far,
drunk on his own echoing Ego,
sure the pride would keep the fire burning
until he felt like coming home.
I named it ambition.
It was hunger wearing gold. She waited with a loyalty I did not earn.
I spent a loyalty I could not replace.
Temporary hands. Temporary nights.
And the one thing that was holy
I treated like it would never leave. Now the nest is quiet.
The hunt is over.
I still feel her looking at me
the way she used to
right before I chose the wrong sky. She was my lioness.
The eyes I hid inside.
The keeper of my universe. I was the king who left the gate open.
She was the last thing that made the kingdom real.

A 1991 NY Daily News article shows jurors describing the holdout as an “unemployed man”.
It also quoted juror Valerie Holmes as saying the holdout wanted to collect HIS juror pay and that he was “very determined, very manipulative and he didn’t mind how long he stayed there.”
In the same article, Asunción Cummings (Sunny Hostin) is quoted as saying “We believe he did it….He knew what he was doing.”
I don’t think the evidence could be any clearer but what is YOUR verdict on whether Sunny Hostin is Guilty or Not Guilty of lying about being the holdout juror?

$25,000 … That’s what this government offered one Marine after his service at Camp Lejeune and the years of illness that followed.
Another veteran: $75,000 despite claiming roughly $500,000 in lost wages alone.
These are veterans and families who lived, worked and served at Camp Lejeune where as many as 1 MILLION people may have been exposed to contaminated drinking water.

There is a terrible act of injustice happening in our country right now impacting US veterans and their family members, and it’s something I’ve been reporting on for a while.
For several decades, victims of the Camp LeJeune water contamination crisis have been denied the compensation they deserve, despite suffering from cancers, neurological disorders, and other devastating illnesses caused by toxic exposure.
From 1953 to 1987, over a million veterans, their families, and civilians were exposed to highly toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) like TCE, PCE, vinyl chloride, and benzene in the base’s groundwater, with contamination levels far exceeding safe limits. Despite clear evidence of harm, federal officials concealed the issue, delaying action until 1987 and leaving victims without recourse for years.
The Camp LeJeune compensation crisis stands as one of the most egregious examples of government failure to address toxic exposure and deliver justice to military families.
I have obtained documentation of 5 offers of judgment from the Department of Justice to people who served or worked at Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base who later developed terrible diseases like cancer or Parkinson’s.
And they’re far from the only ones. Thousands of people who lived or served on that base later got seriously sick, and most of those diseases have been tied back to the poisoned water at Camp LeJeune, which the US government knew about but covered up for YEARS.
The five people listed in this thread are just a handful of victims who have gone public with the shameless “offers of judgment” the US government has recently offered them.
Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward @ASGWoodward at the DOJ signed off on these disgraceful offers after being put in charge of the Camp LeJeune settlements earlier this year.
The Trump administration has a critical opportunity to deliver justice to the veterans and families harmed by the Camp LeJeune crisis.
Many of these victims have already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on treatment and care as a result of their illnesses from their time at Camp LeJeune. The offers they’ve received do not make them financially whole, and they also don't account for the years stolen from the victims, or from their families, who have had to watch them suffer.
