Russophobes like to grab on to and promote anything negative about Russia that they see, to the extent they'll grab from Meduza or "Moscow Times" (not Russia based) for their clickbait. Or from Annie, the plague fiction writer who has a book to promote, who herself sources the Moscow Times...
According to the CDC, the U.S. averages 7 reported plague cases every year.
The most recent confirmed human case was in June 2026: a Santa Fe County, New Mexico, woman died of plague, the state’s first human case of the year.
Russia, a country known for its excellent medical system, is currently monitoring the impact of ONE suspected plague fatality in Siberia.
So why the hysteria?
