One Pot Creamy Garlic Butter Pasta
Ingredients
8 ounces spaghetti
1 pound ground beef, ground turkey, or Italian sausage
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
½ cup beef broth
1 cup heavy cream
1½ to 2 cups water, as needed to cook the pasta
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish
Directions
Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground meat and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it up as it browns.
Add the onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Then add the garlic. Cook for another minute, keeping an eye on it so it doesn’t burn.
Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat the meat.
Pour in the beef broth and scrape up those browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
Pour in the cream and 1½ cups of water. Bring it to a gentle simmer, then add the spaghetti, pressing it down as it softens. The pasta should be mostly submerged. Add a little more water if needed.
Cover and simmer gently for about 10 to 12 minutes, stirring every few minutes, until the pasta is tender. Add a splash of water if the sauce gets too thick before the spaghetti is done.
Turn off the heat and stir in the Parmesan. Let it sit for a minute or two so the sauce can thicken, then scatter fresh parsley over the top.
