I’ve faced many challenges studying medicine in Gaza, but hope and determination kept me going. I may fall a year behind because of tuition, but I won’t let money stop me from becoming a doctor. Please support me, even with $25. chuffed.org/project/dr-yahya… @Lowkey0nline
I am fighting to keep my dreams and ambitions alive. I am closer than ever to fulfilling my dream of becoming a doctor and continuing to provide humanitarian services with greater skill and efficiency. The obstacle standing in my way now is the tuition fee for the new semester.

So sick of people arguing about how much of a "choice" MAiD is when being on disability and having to rely on food banks + the 'nutritional supplement' programs via PWD etc. still wasn't enough to keep my now-deceased loved one's BMI high enough to be eligible for a transplant.🙃

Why therapy hasn’t worked for me despite literal years of talk, meds, CBT, DBT, EMDR, group etc. None, not one, addressed my material conditions. The failure to foster community is absolutely my own fault. Poverty, lack of access to care, housing, education etc. are structural.

With brief discussion of Chief Coroner MDRC reported cases (and link to our article), and their own experiences. Also interesting discussion of how advocacy may have resulted in unwillingness to show some level of restraint & critical reflection

NY Time oped with expression of concern by 2 psychiatrists involved in implementation of MAID in their hospital & in Canada. Gary Rodin & Madeline Li point to rushed MAID decisions, MAID for socio-economic reasons, failure of professionals to explore other options

I'm a former youth in care whose child welfare services were terminated despite severe disabilities that meant I would never be able to care for myself. I need help with food, medicine, and bills. Disability support is "woefully inadequate." paypal.me/damienito

I'm having a difficult time on extremely inadequate disability support. Asking for help is the only way I can take care of my basic needs, pay bills and get groceries. Please consider helping me survive Thank you so much 💓 LosinghopeinCanada@gmail.com amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/AO1…

Canada: "No one left behind" "We will support –" "We will take care –" Disabled person: I need help. I need support. Canada: you already have legislated deep poverty *and* MAID – what more could you possibly need?

Mark Carney defunded the Canadian Human Rights Comissions overseeing of UN CRPD compliance beginning in 2027, the year MAID expands to sole medical condition mental illness. 👀 He did this notably after UN CRPD's scathing report on Canada's disability human rights violations ...
Replying to @Sarah_Colero
Not only has Canada ignored the UN CRPD on their report conclusion regarding MAID T2 and CDB, In Mark Carney's 1st Budget (November 2025), it defunds the department monitoring Canada's compliance with the UN CRPD. Trying to bury the active violations. 👀

The statements "from the Minister" are from Kamal Khera from a federal Ministry *that no longer exists in Canada.* Khera was voted out 2025. Carney dissolved the Ministry of Disability Inclusion right after. How poetic. Copy paste, don't care about what disabled people face.

The system was the barrier and fighting it wounded me further. To see government and non-profits constantly push employment + disability hurts. They *don't* want a system where disabled folks can work and there are ways built-in to allow that discrimination without consequence.

Thats another reason why the CDB amount being "designed to show the importance of work" is such a sting, they make it so disabled people are allowed to be shoved out of the working world, then blame legislated destitution on "well...you really should be working. Inspiration!"

In Canada mental health services are not covered or available/accessible, yet medically assisted death is free, available to disabled people with mental illness*, and more accessible than any specialized care or support. *Sole condition mental illness goes active March 17 2027
Mental health services should be covered by insurers, employers, and the government as preventative medicine.

Because the federal government doesn't actually doesn't give a fuck if you die, they care about optics. They can make someone the bad guy for selling chemicals, or make someone a hero for being paid to administer them to get the same result.
The acknowledgement comes after Kenneth Law faced a sentencing hearing last week to counselling or assisting 14 suicides in Ontario. thestar.com/politics/federal…

White feminists who allegedly understand that consent can be blurred under certain power imbalances are the ones who are the most adament about yes means yes no matter the circumstances or imbalances when it comes to life or death medical decisions. I find that to be kinda odd.
