Prices are too high and Canada is not our enemy. We need to end the tariff war — now.
In the Senate, I’ll bring both parties together to lower costs and put Michigan families first.
Russian oligarch says Don Trump Jr. has repaid him for his wedding gift of a private afterparty
“Frankly speaking, I do not understand why he decided to do so."
Comes after some backlash on Capitol Hill, including from Utah Sen. Curtis, who called for an investigation

“They don’t want to bear the weight of the president. I get that. You’re up for re-election? He’ll target you in a primary… You know what all martyrs have in common? They're dead,” Sen. Thom Tillis tells 60 Minutes, explaining why Republican senators are reluctant to break with the White House. cbsn.ws/4dNSnsc
If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2026 Midterm Elections, I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America, $5,000! Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to signing those checks!
Community note
This repeats a promise Trump made in September 2026. The US has approximately 250 million adult citizens so the total cost would be over 1.25 trillion dollars. Congress must approve any such federal spending.

Thune says “yet to be determined” on whether today’s vote series is the last of the day (and week)
Kennedy said a decision hasn’t been made but “we've got at least five senators that have left, and/or are leaving, and they're not coming back. Which would mean we would be short of votes.”
Excited to share this @WSJ project: I went home to Miami to see how the Hispanic voters who helped propel Trump to victory are feeling ahead of the midterms.
What I found? Deep frustration, esp. over immigration—and it could keep some who backed him home.

Happening soon: @SenJohnCurtis is asking to UC his Wildfire Prevention Act on the Senate floor. So far, no one is expected to block it
The bill would amend the Clean Air Act to ensure states would not be penalized for conducting controlled burns intended to prevent larger fires
This comes as Utah in particular has experienced a historic wildfire season this year, with more than 500,000 acres burned in one of the nation’s driest states. It's been the state’s worst wildfire season since 2007, per experts.
The push for legislating on the growing wildfire crisis gained steam earlier this summer when wildfire smoke from Canada knocked at Congress’ literal front door and polluted D.C. for days on end, making it hard for senators to ignore the national threat wildfires pose.
W/ @QuigleyAidan: The WH is using Customs and Border Protection funding to run pro-Trump political advertisements, Democratic appropriators said Tuesday.
And GOP senators are slamming the move, saying the ads shouldn’t be paid for with taxpayer dollars:

Thune is set to travel to several states with key Senate races in the coming weeks — IA, NE, KS, MN, FL, SC and OH.
"I'll do whatever I can to help the team, and if that's just staying out of the way, I'm fine with that," he told me in an interview.

A phenomenal moment in the Senate.
Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., claims he has evidence Jack Smith went to a HAWKS game in Atlanta.
Smith denies it.
Schmitt declares he has busted Jack Smith for perjury.
Smith, vexed, says he went to HAWKEYES game in Maryland.
