🗺️ New in NestJS Observe: the Service Map. Every application, queue, database and external API in your project, connected by the calls they actually made. How busy, how slow, what's failing. Built from your traffic. Nothing to draw or configure. observe.nestjs.com

We can measure what part of the shelf gets customer attention without any additional hardware. Just your normal CCTV cameras and a digital twin made with the phone in your pocket. @CactusXR will absolutely revolutionize how well stores can do their merchandising.

In the last few years I've traveled to many places. I've been to Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Dublin, Paris, Seattle, SF, LA, San Diego. But today I find myself in a small village in the middle of nowhere, hidden deep in Romanian plains. This is where I come from. Raised in a house with no running water, sinks, or indoors toilets, by people working these lands. When I was still a kid my dad moved to Spain to work in construction and brought us to settle there. But things didn't go particularly well in Spain either after the 2007 housing crash. And yet here I am now, writing fucking compilers and VMs for agents in Rust. I overcame poverty and helped my family purely by writing insane amounts of code. "You can just do things" has never been truer than in tech.

I’ve alway’s thought it’s a shame that WebAssembly has the word “web” in it. Gives it a connotation that it’s “only for browsers” or something. Meanwhile, NASA’s over here with a flight-compliant derivative (SpaceWASM) intended for spacecraft! The intent is writing mission software to a standardized bytecode, where the end platform / ISA is otherwise arbitrary. In other words, run the same mission package on ARM, Rad-hard PowerPC, RISC-V, whatever. Thus, after-flight you could (safely) upload new payloads with “approved” APIs. Weird to think about, but just like buggy WASM code shouldn’t crash your browser…the same logic applies to not crashing your critical flight hardware.

I still can't believe we've arrived at this point. I usually try to use specification-driven design, but even so, I try to read everything it generates. I spend a lot of time reading everything and manually uploading the changes myself rather than delegating them to the AI. :(
Replying to @ori_pomerantz
I’m significantly older than you. I started coding in the late 60s. My current strategy is to not read any of the code written by my agents. That’s the only way I can take advantage of their productivity. What I do instead is to surround the agents with extreme constraints. Unit tests, gherkin tests, QA procedures, quality metrics, mutation testing, test coverage, and a plethora of others. In the end, I have very high confidence in the code they produce because they’ve had to run the gauntlet of all of my constraints and tests.
