If you’re under 26, you have never lived a day without someone orbiting above you. 26 years ago today, the first resident crew arrived at the ISS. Humanity has had a home in space ever since. The research and advances made possible by our crews, teams on the ground and international partners have helped prepare us to live and work on the Moon and Mars. As we transition to the next era of our presence in low Earth orbit, we build on everything they have made possible.

So I don't have to write it twice. He was 14. I usually mute my phone and don't get notifications but have set replies to only people I follow to avoid the ghouls. My daughter M and husband G and I are being looked after well by friends.

Today would have been Mum and Dad's 63rd wedding anniversary. This year they left us within twelve days of each other. After all that time side by side, neither knew how to be without the other. 63 years today. Still together, somewhere among the stars. ❤️

This is a lovely read for me. Vain-glorious I know, but it’s remarkable when reviewers come, let alone are open to me. Thank you. X

After a Google, to suggest it as a Xmas present, I’ve only just discovered that that wasn’t a book review of your new biography called Hexagon (!)

Went to Cambridge to see @AlisonMoyet , having braved torrential rain. She was just brilliant; a concert based on her electronic music with Yazoo and 2 solo albums. Basically Essex Kraftwerk meets Ute Lemper in a disco. Just terrific. Then long journey home as they closed A14.

We’re at the fabulous @esa open day at Harwell. Great to see so many people queueing to get in and so many children being inspired by space! You can hear our interviews with two ESA reserve astronauts and a @BepiColombo scientist in our next podcast.

A good piece on Lyme disease. I encountered many of the issues discussed. Statistically, yes, I was unlucky to get it along with several accompanying infections. But the lack of knowledge encountered and delays in testing and treatment had consequences too.
