The Trump administration has just announced the next bold step in advancing quantum computing into mainstream utility: the Q Competition under Quantum Genesis.
Led by @ENERGY, this competition provides critical incentives to propel American scientists to create humanity’s first fault-tolerant, scientifically-relevant quantum computer.

To develop the first fault-tolerant quantum computers for science, we need rigorous tools to test and validate their performance.
@ENERGY is opening a $45M Lab Call to tap our National Labs’ expertise to build these capabilities.

We’re entering a new frontier in quantum computing.
Today, @ENERGY announced the $215M Quantum Genesis Q Competition to accelerate the development and deployment of the world's first fault-tolerant scientifically relevant quantum computers.
The goal: deploy quantum computers with at least 100 logical qubits and scale up to 200, unlocking new possibilities for scientific computing.
Applications are now open. I look forward to seeing what America’s quantum innovators achieve!

Honored to represent the U.S. and co-host the Global Fusion Policy Summit alongside UK Energy Minister @mgshanks this week.
Fusion energy has the potential to transform how we power the world, and international collaboration is key to turning cutting-edge science into reality.
We closed the summit by signing a U.S.-UK agreement to tackle the shared challenges facing fusion deployment and accelerate commercialization.
By connecting expertise on both sides of the Atlantic, we are taking a vital step toward a secure, abundant energy future.
Next year marks the 60th anniversary of Fermilab.
Our story began with our first director, Robert Wilson. Wilson was a pioneering scientist whose vision for the lab laid the foundation for a complex that has powered decades of research. (1/)
For decades, space telescopes were built as exquisite, one-of-a-kind instruments.
