I'm torn between continuing to play WoW Forever's beta and just... not, and waiting for full release so I won't lose the characters/resent having to do everything again. Then again, I'm also not sure if I want to resubscribe to WoW, remembering how badly it took over my life, and Blizzard's various unfriendly customer service practices, so the beta might be the only time I intend to play.

All the hype around WoW Forever is making me want to play Guild Wars 2 again and wish I could recommend it to friends because of how well it nailed just adventuring in the world. But I cannot forgive what was taken from us 12 years ago, and cannot stand the direction they took the endgame.

At that point, Sylvanas' cynicism had won out with all the betrayals from the Horde she had been trying to save and preserve, and from her perspective, life really WAS nothing compared to the horrors that awaited in the death that everyone was so eager to send each other to, and she was running out of options. Her project to save her people from the fucked up afterlife was ruined by Genn crippling her ability to create new Forsaken. She also believed Zovaal was a person similar to herself. The Banshee Queen doesn't WANT to be Lord of the Undead, living in blight and wielding shadow and decay. She'd rather be living in the beautiful glades of Eversong. But that's the fate that's been forced onto her, and she's using her dark powers to save who she can and fix a system she sees as broken, and assumed Zovaal was doing the same with the Domination Powers the Primus forced on him.
She was not consistent at the end of BFA and through Shadowlands. She has previously shown extreme concern for the people under her care (Forsaken), her former people and home (Quel'thalas), and the horde broadly. All of that went out the window at the end of BFA.

I definitely agree that you should be able to camp in a dungeon. All the camp buffs should be available in towns as well - or at least most of them as fitting for the settlement. To me, a big part of WoW's world appeal is the exploration loop of going out from town, across the wilderness of passive and sparse hostile mobs, into enemy camps/strongholds, then returning to the distinct safety of town for maintenance.
i think the most immediately addressable nitpick i have with Forever is that you can't put down a campfire in a dungeon, or even a main city (and none of the cooking fires/stoves work in cities because of this lol). just seems counter-intuitive to the system.

The solution to this is to pay the artist for the rights to their work, not rob them of their copyright without compensation. The artist, not the school, created the work.
Replying to @pnkplasticfangs
the school also ends up missing out on a lot of money if one of their student's projects blow up and they have no legal ability to advertise/profit on "hey, yeah, we helped make this!". the entire reason you know abt ur fav art school is bc they can talk abt it

Goddamn Leonid feels so redundant with Garryk in Forsaken Kingdom. I already have an invulnerable wall of a hero after Act 1 that is far more mobile, damaging, and effective, and the new guy doesn't have a full act worth of stat enhancements to keep up with the other two. So far, the Siege mission from the prologue remains the best mission out of everything I've played so far.

Playing through FFXIV, it's actually kinda jarring just how much the behaviors, animations, and city layouts scream they want to be a 2D Pixel game like 1-6, yet are rendered in full over-the-shoulder 3D.

Finally decided on which classes to play as I go into Shadowbringers. Warrior, Dragoon, Bard, and Summoner/Scholar.

Deciding on some classes was harder than others, and I based my decisions on the story+character of the class, how I saw my character, and the gameplay. On that note, Warrior is the no-brainer for Tank. Started my adventure as a Marauder, very proud of being a Storm Captain, and it's such a strong, physical class that I tanked Binding Coils and a few Alexander Savage raids on. I might bring Dark Knight to 80 for the story capstone. While Hrothgar have a lore connection to gun blades, it's not for me. My first character waa PLD, but while this guy looks good with a shield, the higher level animations and magic are off-brand for him.

... damn, my game's really washed out in screenshots. Might be an HDR thing

Just got all my classes to level 70 and completed their Job Quests. Finally, I can move onto Shadowbringers.

A Job questline so bad and nonsensical they completely abandon it in favor of Gladiator for 60-80. How the fuck they screwed up the Holy Knight questline in the Holy Knight Expansion so badly will always be one of the mysteries of the ages.
Paladin level 50 to 60 questline done. I think these pictures mostly sum it up

Iceborne SHOULD have made the endgame weapons: Silver Rathalos - Fire Gold Rathian - Poison Nergigante/Alatreon - Dragon Raging Brachydios - Blast Frostfang Barioth/Velkhana- Ice Furious Rajang - Paralysis (Change from Thunder) Namielle - Water (Superpowered endgame variant) Zinogre - Thunder Shara Ishvalda - Raw/Defense

This game managed to make ME hate a muscular lion-woman. That's how bad she is.
Wuk Lamat is a great character and I’m still convinced the two main reasons Americans dislike her is because they either have main character syndrome or they got swept up in an anti-trans culture war

And we have the cherry trees to prove it!
Reporter: Why is the U.S. intervening to support the Japanese yen at this time? Trump: Japan’s been very good to us, with the exception, of course, of Pearl Harbor.

I really should write out all my thoughts on the He-man movie. Talk about its themes, and what it got right, what it got wrong, and what would have been cool if they did.

He was really well done as the secondary antagonist for Duncan's arc. Being a walking arsenal let him have a cool gadget-off battle with Man-at-Arms, while the battle with He-man really sold "The Most Powerful Man in the Universe" angle of the transformation.
What did you think of Trap Jaw in Masters of the Universe? One of the coolest villains or just a walking arsenal with a metal jaw?
