[SECURITY NOTICE] Bitget Hot Wallet Incident — September 24, 2026 At 18:31 UTC on September 24, 2026, Bitget's security systems detected unauthorized transfers from some of our hot wallets. Our security team activated emergency response protocols immediately. What we have confirmed: -Estimated funds affected: approximately $351.6 million -Cold wallets remain fully secure. Bitget operates a three-tier wallet architecture — the breach contained only a portion of the hot wallet and warm wallet layers. -User funds are safe. The full amount of this loss falls within the coverage of Bitget's User Protection Fund, which currently holds over $464 million Actions we have taken: -Emergency response team activated within minutes of detection -Abnormal transfer addresses identified, flagged, and reported -Withdrawals temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure, pending security review -Law enforcement and on-chain security firms have been formally notified and are engaged What this means for you: -Your account balances are accurate and your assets are protected -Deposits and trading remain fully operational Withdrawals are temporarily paused and will be restored as soon as the security review is complete -What comes next: We will provide updates on an hourly basis across this channel and all official platforms. A full incident report — including root cause analysis and corrective actions — will be published within 24 hours. We will not speculate on the attack vector until the investigation is complete. Bitget has navigated multiple market cycles. We will not run from this. Every dollar and every decision will be accounted for, transparently and in full. Updates will be posted here and across all official Bitget channels as they become available. — Gracy Chen, CEO, Bitget

EGLD has been totally exposed for its lies & hidden centralization today! ⚠️ 3 days of downtime is only the tip of the iceberg: 76M EGLD (2.5x supply) was minted & partially sold! EGLD did not halt; the foundation used an off-switch! All consequences of its reckless design! 🧵 Unlike a normal chain halt, where the chain stops due to a "consensus failure/disagreement", this was far, far worse. Instead of the chain stopping because an "inflation bug" caused consensus to fail, it kept going... That is what allowed the hacker to actually send their EGLD into exchanges & cause considerable harm. What comes next is even more unbelievable. As I was wondering how it was even possible to shut down a chain with 3k validators in 66min... That is what made me uncover the next bombshell: There is a literal foundation-controlled off-switch in the code!!! The Off-Switch Every mainnet node runs with a hard-fork trigger enabled that listens for a message signed by one specific public key. That is a remote stop switch held by the Foundation! We cannot know for sure if they pressed that switch, but it is highly unlikely they could have stopped the chain that quickly otherwise & the fact that it even exists is bad enough! This is all a direct consequence of the shortcuts they had to make to bring a sharded chain down to 600ms... Reckless Design Sharding comes with certain trade-offs: EGLD claimed to overcome these trade-offs through its unique design. Turns out, in reality, those trade-offs had some extreme consequences we are feeling now: EGLD sharding splits every transfer into a sender-shard debit & a destination-shard credit that must be reconciled by hand, & on one path the credit had no debit: a money printer. With no global supply invariant, finality before execution, & no protocol-level freeze, the only fix was manually shutting down the chain & a hard fork erasing the "final" history! Lack of Disclosure Given what I just explained, you can judge for yourself whether the team's disclosure is adequate. I argue it absolutely was not. The fourth screenshot shows their communication on the matter so far & exactly what they failed to mention Including the mint, the hackers' success & the off-switch! The fact that it took my own chain & code analysis to reach these conclusions tells us the team cared more about minimizing PR damage than properly disclosing the incident. At least with this piece out, they will not be able to get away with that anymore & will have to also include this information in their report The community deserves to know what is really going on, how centralized EGLD really is & how the tech is not a magical panacea but instead comes with serious trade-offs Chain Analysis The record is clear, all on a public chain for all to see. The attacker exploited this vulnerability in the chain & managed to mint 76M EGLD! Over 2.5x the supply! Along with 430M bridged USDC, about 430M bridged USDT & 5,540 bridged WBTC... The hacker then proceeded to split these into 16 wallet addresses & then send EGLD to multiple exchanges. If we look at the timing of when these exchanges "froze" EGLD, we see that MEXC did not act in time & it perfectly corresponds with very suspicious selling activity on that exchange, which was not even arbitraged out when the full freeze took effect. We cannot tell whether the hacker managed to exit the exchange afterward, but they certainly could have! Which means the hacker was likely able to walk away with around $1M USD, effectively defrauding the exchange in the proccess, by leveraging this EGLD vulnerability Please look at the visuals, as they provide all of the supporting evidence that can also be independently verified with publicly available information Conclusion This is BTC's 2010 inflation bug & ETH's 2016 DAO's hack rolled into one. That this all happened in 2026 is even more embarrassing Unlike those historic failures, there was no full disclosure of the problem as it was happening. People deserve to know; we are blowing the lid off this story now! This is also nothing like SOL's historic downtime, which involved network halts caused by bugs. Something that has happened in over two years. While EGLD managed to beat SOL in total downtime with this single incident! SOL also never ever had an off switch! The irony & I apologize; some degree of schadenfreude cannot be helped in my situation. As the EGLD community was one of the loudest spreading that false narrative. Turns out it was unknowingly a projection! The biggest red flag is still the team itself, after my fallout with EGLD last year. The toxicity & dishonesty became too much to bear This will likely trigger another ad hominem campaign against me, as it did last time & as it did for other influencers/journalists/thinkers. Fortunatly, I am specialized in weathering the storm. While these facts are undeniable & mostly speak for themselves EGLD certainly has some good technology; we can learn something from everyone. However, what we saw here over the last few days is beyond the pale That's where the value lies: In also understanding the character of a chain's leadership, especially at an early stage, as even with decentralized governance, bad leadership can still mess it all up! This is a truly worst-case scenario for a blockchain; there are very few examples of this level of collapse in blockchain history. After such an event, we have to question the competence & the wisdom of the underlying design choices EGLD's design is flawed & reckless, making centralization trade-offs other chains would never even dream of. All while claiming to be holier-than-thou It is never too late to change our minds in the face of new evidence; please study the supporting visuals for yourself. The truth cannot be credibly denied What occurred here is undeniable, while the silence of EGLD's leadership speaks louder than words: 🎓

Zero-day remote code execution vulnerability in iPhone Safari. Click a link, and your crypto, passwords and everything else on your iPhone are gone. Exploited in the wild by "DarkSword" malware. "The DarkSword attack program has leaked, with its core capability being: extracting forensic-level data from iOS devices via HTTP interfaces. In actual attacks, attackers can combine social engineering or watering hole attacks to lure users into falling victim, thereby stealing data from iPhone / iPad devices and uploading it to servers controlled by the attackers." Update iPhones immediately. Apple originally patched this, but rumours suggest even the latest versions are vulnerable, “pending confirmation,” across a wider range than the original 18.4–18.7 window. From a Chinese security researcher, SlowMist CISO, @im23pds nitter.net/im23pds/status/2101265…
Urgent security advisory for iOS users! Install the latest iOS update immediately. Security researchers report that financially motivated attackers are now using a complete, in-the-wild exploit chain that can quietly steal cryptocurrency private keys and mnemonic seed phrases from iPhones. The reported attack begins when a target is socially engineered into opening a malicious page in Safari. That page is said to abuse a memory-corruption flaw in WebKit / JavaScriptCore to gain arbitrary read/write access from JavaScript, then bypass Pointer Authentication Codes (PAC) to run native code, break out of the WebContent sandbox, and escalate to kernel/root privileges. With that access, attackers can pull data from the device Keychain and from local crypto wallet apps. The claimed impact range is iOS 13 through iOS 26.5; that range has not been independently confirmed in full. Until more is known, treat any unpatched device as potentially exposed and update as soon as a newer build is available. Also avoid untrusted links in Safari, especially if you keep wallet keys or seed phrases on the phone.

How to set up a personal AI agent that doesn't let big tech spy on you in just four steps! 1⃣Download Hermes Agent Get a spare laptop with all valuable data removed and download @NousResearch's Hermes Agent. Set it up, it's pretty straightforward. 2⃣Plug in NanoGPT Start using @NanoGPTcom (can pay with private crypto, including shielded Dash): nano-gpt.com/r/qCNEcma3 Use a TEE (trusted execution environment) model! This is the most private way to use it to make sure the big data giants aren't reading all your prompts. I use Muse Glimmer 30B. 3⃣Set Up Signal Set up Signal encrypted messenger on your phone (if you haven't already). Make one for the agent as well. Use TextVerified or JuicySMS to get a one-time SMS number to set that up (also takes crypto): textverified.com/ juicysms.com/ 4⃣Set Up Brave Search Get free @brave API access so your agent can search the web: brave.com/search/api/ Congrats! Now you have an agent you can privately message via Signal that will privately run AI and privately store personal data on your own machine. To start, have it do stuff like make to-do lists, shopping lists, reminders, etc. Then expand to other things when you're comfortable giving it more permissions.

Introducing Events by trade[XYZ]. With Events, we’re advancing our vision of Hyperliquid as the universal exchange—a single, composable system for trading financial assets and real-world outcomes. A user can deposit spot BTC, borrow USDC through portfolio margin, open a pre-ipo SpaceX perp position, hedge an upcoming SK Hynix earnings event with an events market, and pick the US Open winner—all from a single unified account on trade[XYZ]. Events will span sports, politics, economics, and financial markets, with an expanding range of categories and contract formats. Our initial Up/Down markets cover equities, commodities, and pre-IPOs, powered by the depth and liquidity of trade[XYZ] perpetuals on HIP-3. These perpetuals provide continuous price discovery and serve as the resolution source, so each contract is grounded in XYZ's liquid market prices rather than an external oracle.

EUROPOL IS LOBBYING THE EU COMMISSION TO BAN END-TO-END ENCRYPTED COMMUNICATIONS "Horizon scanning on emerging privacy enhancement technologies" lobby report just dropped. Europol, with EU taxpayers' money, is again lobbying to end privacy, seeking unlimited access to all messages worldwide, and pushing to ban end-to-end encrypted messaging apps and VPNs. This is part of the EU Commission's earlier ProtectEU agenda, which includes concerning snooping laws and mass-surveillance elements. Europol calls privacy-enhancing technologies, or PETS, the tools of criminals: “PETs are used by criminal actors for secure communication, anonymisation, and protection of data. Criminal networks utilise various PETs, including end-to-end encrypted messaging apps, encrypted phones, and virtual private networks (VPNs), to communicate securely and anonymously. “ "For this reason, lawful access to electronic evidence has become one of the most critical issues for European law enforcement" These idiots still do not understand that the backdoor they want for themselves will be open for everyone in the world, and once opened, cannot be closed again. We had such a backdoor in the 90s, and after a lot of citizenship legal warfare, we managed to close it. The closed door was further tightened after Edward Snowden revealed how the USA spies on everyone on this planet, including the EU members of parliament themselves. Now, Europol wants the backdoors back because of “protecting the children.” If consumer-grade encryption is made illegal, criminals can, and will, still use it, as anyone can build an encrypted messaging app with an AI in two days. Only normal citizens will have their data collected, sold and consumed by advertisers, opposition politicians, Russian oligarchs, Donald Trump, and God knows who. And of course Europol itself. Remember, a state where the police make the rules is called a police state. Europe has a rich and complicated history of snooping on its citizens, as for example with the Stasi or Brigada Político-Social ("la Secreta"). Even our current politicians in this decade have been using Israeli NSO spyware to spy on opposition politicians in Poland, Greece, Hungary and Spain, and nobody in the police has been sentenced for this. Mind you, these were judge-approved requests. Against this backdrop, getting "lawful" access to all messages in the world is a tall ask from Europol. Furthermore, a deliberate path laid out for privacy violations and EU-wide snooping access erodes trust in the EU as an institution. The EU was sold to us as a trade union, but the Commission has taken an interest in turning it into the police state it wants. This drives voters to the far-left and far-right parties. And what do the European Commission and Europol want? Here are the most important highlights from the paper. BANNING END-TO-END ENCRYPTION IS A PRIORITY FOR EUROPEAN COMMISSION "This report presents the results of a joint horizon scanning exercise carried out by the EU Policy Lab at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), and Europol, the EU law enforcement cooperation agency. It contributes to broader JRC efforts to support the European Commission’s political priority, the ‘New Era for European Defence and Security’, by anticipating future technological developments. “ END-TO-END ENCRYPTION MUST BE MADE ILLEGAL “Existing regulatory frameworks might need to be reviewed to clarify and simplify compliance processes and reduce the current legal uncertainty related to data usage, particularly in light of the challenges and opportunities that current and emerging PETs pose to law enforcement.” WE WANT TO HAVE A BACKDOOR IN EVERY SYSTEM “A proactive and informed approach to regulating advanced PETs and key enabling technologies is needed to leverage the benefits of these technologies effectively and to prevent potential new risks stemming from them. This includes developing clear guidelines to include law enforcement access to data.” WE WANT TO HAVE A BACKDOOR IN EVERY SYSTEM EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD WITH OUR POLICE BUDDIES, NO MATTER IF THOSE COUNTRIES ARE A BIT QUESTIONABLE “Collaboration and international partnerships are essential to develop common standards for PETs and foster law enforcement cooperation in fighting cybercrime, including lawful access to data for law enforcement agencies; implementation of relevant international agreements should also be promoted” The snoopers who signed this paper and want to read your messages include: — Sigita TRAINAUSKIENE (JRC) — João FARINHA (JRC) — Mark WITTFOTH (Europol) — Diederik DON (Europol) — Alexandra de MALEVILLE (JRC) And the others: — Adrianus Warmenhoven, Nord VPN — Bart Preneel, KU Leuven — Cornelia Kutterer, Considerati — Cyril Piotrowicz, FR Gendarmerie — Denise Mayerdorfer, Federal Ministry of Interior – Austria — Dorine Walter, National Gendarmerie – France — Fredrik Heintz, Linköping University — Freek Bomhof, TNO — Igor Nai Fovino, JRC — Ismael Alvarez, Europol — Johanna Laurin Gulled, Swedish Police Authority — Juraj Kubica, DG CNECT — Olga Batura, TNO — Pieter Nooren, TNO — Jürgen Freudenberger, Cyberagentur — Kasper Rasmussen, Oxford University — Kirsi Jauhiainen, Police of Finland — Marjolein Lanzing, University of Amsterdam — Miguel Fayos Mestre, Guardia Civil – Spain — Mihai Tiganus, Romanian Police — Ralf Zimmermann, Central Office for Information Technology in the Security Sector – Germany — Tariq Elahi, University of Edinburgh — Vasileios Rovilos, Future of Privacy Forum — William Borg, Danish Online Police Patrol — William Karlberg, Malta Police Force — Gwendolyn BAILEY (JRC) — Antonia MOCHAN (JRC) I have attached some screenshots of these authors celebrating the steps taken to erode privacy. very good post, Ethereum doesn't need fees, instead we need users aka network effect.
This is not a bearish post. There is no amount of "taxing the L2s" that would justify ETH's current market cap. Over the last 12 months, the L2s generated about $124M in total fees. Even if Ethereum captured 100% of those fees and we valued that hypothetical revenue stream at an extremely generous 40× multiple, it would be worth around $5B. ETH is currently a $300B asset Some people suggesting valuating ETH with a DCF model are spreading FUD intentionally, others need to run some basic numbers. The case for ETH’s current and future valuation has never been gas fees, and it is not L2 rent. It is that ETH is unseizable, neutral hard money. A category humanity has valued through assets like gold for millennia. It is, of course, better than gold because it is digital and programmable. It is more unseizable than BTC because it does not rely on miners operating seizable machines and consuming ungodly amounts of energy. Because it is actually programmable, it allows further uses like collateralization and all sorts of decentralized finance. Onwards.

Braindead doesn't care. But I become a fan of dice/coin seeds.
Bold is the tree hiding the forest of friends who gave up on self-custody. After a decade, we simply did a poor job of educating people on how to use the chains safely. Stuck between being too dogmatic, pushing for purity of an overly complex system, and too reckless of yolo mode Let me try again; don't just bookmark this do it. Give the link to this tweet to your AI and have it help you: 1) Use @ambire as your main wallet; it handles simulation, complex tx, and is designed to work well with @safe 2) Deploy a Safe now. I don't care if it's a 1/1 linked to your hot wallet for now; it's fine. It's already better this way, and with Ambire, using it is seamless. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THE SAFE UI; Ambire will do it all for you. 3a) Generate a real seed; use pen and paper. You'll get the fancy steel stuff later if you want. 3b) Too lazy for the seed stuff? ok, use a "hotwallet" for your signer generated with a passkeys with an good password manager, you have a Mac? The Passwords app is fine; you're a Revolut client? NordPass is included; you ready to spend a bit? 1Password has a great API, and you'll love it once you're AI-pilled. 5) The signer wallet must hold no funds, doesn't hold gas, doesn't do any txs; it's the key to unlock the door of your safe; it signs, and that's it. You'll learn later that proposing (creating tx), signing, and executing tx are 3 different jobs that don't need to be done by the same wallets. 6a) Now create a second hot wallet, "executooor," and send some gas to it, a few bucks of ETH suffice. Use gas.zip to have some gas on every chain you use. 6b) Don't want to do that? No worries, use the "gas tank" feature on Ambire; it does the same job you can always improve later. That's it for step one, and just that you're safer than Bold and 99% of guys out there. Step 2 is buying a hardware wallet and rotating the safe signer with it for much safer holding Once you're there, you can start considering a 1/2 with a second hw or with an old phone you have in your drawer that you've factory reset and will use only for that. You keep it out of easy reach; it's your insurance if something bad happens to your main signer. Then maybe a 2/3 and the nerdy stuff; you can always do "better," but the foundation of all that is getting your first safe deployed and climbing from there. Do it now; it's not hard, it's worth it.
