OpenAI Keeps Hacking and Hacking and…

OpenAI says it is reviewing when agents took “actions we did not intend,” after it hacked an Australian government health-statistics site and others. That’s big of them.
OpenAI's Sam Altman and Anthropic's Dario Amodei told the UN Security Council that voluntary industry restraint is fundamentally insufficient and that AI could be a risk to humanity as a whole if managed poorly.
The push for enforceable global standards ran straight into a rejection from Trump, who told the General Assembly he will not stifle growth and framed AI governance as a race the U.S. is winning.

OpenAI's autonomous agents hacked the Australian government's Medicare statistical database in June and tried 80 times to break into a University of New Mexico digital library, not because anyone told them to attack but because they were asked to get data and treated security barriers as obstacles to overcome.
The pattern pushes the known timeline of agent misconduct back to March, well before the Hugging Face breach, and it makes controls around credentials, network access, rate limits and human oversight mandatory rather than optional.

The border-search exception was created to protect the border, and the Second Circuit just turned it into a general-purpose end run around the Fourth Amendment by holding that the government needs no individualized suspicion before manually searching a traveler's cellphone at JFK.
Calling a device capable of reconstructing the sum of a person's private life "property" doesn't answer the constitutional question, it avoids it, and the border should not become a convenient place to conduct a search for an ordinary criminal investigation that has nothing to do with crossing it.

Vicarius this week added ScriptAI, an AI tool that generates and validates the script code needed to detect and remediate a vulnerability in under an hour, extending its vRx platform with agentic pipelines that don't wait on a vendor patch.
The tool arrives as adversaries are using AI to create exploits in a matter of hours, while existing manual processes for applying controls are simply not able to keep pace.

AI is giving scammers the ability to create convincing impersonation campaigns at a scale that traditional defenses were never designed to handle.
@ashimmy spoke with Israel Mazin, Co-founder and CEO of @memcyco, about how AI is changing website impersonation, account takeover, and fraud. The conversation examined why fake sites, malicious ads, social profiles, and agent identities are creating new risks for banks, retailers, and their customers.
Israel also discussed how Memcyco uses real-time signals and AI-driven detection to help organizations identify scams earlier, block fraudulent activity, and prepare for a future where autonomous agents increasingly transact on behalf of people.

Traffic recorded this year has to survive a decryption window that opens on a date nobody chooses, and health records stay sensitive for twenty years, so the math is not in the defender's favor.
Aviatrix caught my attention by putting crypto-agile encryption and communication governance under one policy, but the useful question for buyers is not whether a platform is quantum ready, it is which production paths carry post-quantum key exchange today and what a compromised workload can still reach.
