Uganda-Germany: Deepening Trade and Investment Cooperation Uganda and Germany are preparing a new two-year cooperation framework, with negotiations expected to begin in November 2026, aimed at deepening economic ties and attracting investment across key sectors. During her visit to #SHIPU, hosted by Head of Unit Col. @edthnaka, German Ambassador H.E. Sigrid Sommer reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to supporting German businesses investing in Uganda and strengthening private-sector-led development. Discussions highlighted opportunities in renewable energy, vocational skills, technology, logistics, agriculture and other sectors, alongside the role of Uganda’s Electronic Investors Protection Portal #EIPP in providing investors with a platform to conduct due diligence from anywhere. On 26th August 2026, SHIPU communicated the coordinated arrest and arraignment of three suspects including Koreans before Kajjansi Magistrates Court on offenses related to gold fraud. While collaborating with the Korean Embassy in Uganda [@embassy_korea] and Police Mineral Protection Unit (PMPU) [@PoliceUg], the alleged victim of Kidnap in the gold fraud Kimuli Ismail, is back into the country. SHIPU respectfully commends the support undertaken by the Consul at the @embassy_korea, Mr. Sungjoon Park also a Security Officer in ensuring a clear clarification on Kimuli 's movement into and out of Korea, is received. This has supported the Investigating Unit (PMPU) with a clear understanding of the alleged kidnap/disappearance and the subsquent amendment of the charges.
