I showed him picture after picture of this baby from ten different angles, absolutely gushing about him. How sweet he was. How perfect he was outside of his kennel. How he rested his head in a volunteer’s lap, knew sit and paw, walked like a dream, and just wanted to be close to people.🙏 My fiancé looked at me after a while and simply said, “Jadey, he is going to be really hard to get adopted.”💔 I knew it was true, but hearing someone else say it gutted me.💔 Because Kraven is exactly the kind of dog people say they want. He is 5 years old, so there’s no puppy nonsense. He’s a super holder and never has a dirty kennel. His kennel techs always give him an extra blanket, and they smile when they see me coming because they know their boy is getting out for a while. He is calm, affectionate, incredibly easy to handle, and an absolute dream on leash. He takes treats gently and is perfectly content to settle beside you for some love.👍 The first time I took him to Puparazzi, I literally wrote in his notes: “This is a perfect dog. 0 things wrong with him. He is an absolute ANGEL.” And I meant every word.Kraven came into Fulton County Animal Services as a stray with damage to his skull and jaw‼️💔You can see it in his face. 💔We don’t know what happened to him before he got here or what caused that trauma. But somehow, whatever Kraven went through didn’t take away his willingness to trust people. His face tells you that life hasn’t always been kind to him, yet he has remained incredibly kind to the world.👍 And maybe that’s part of why I’m so attached to him.💔💔💔💔 This dog who has every reason to be wary of people just wants to be near them. He’ll quietly snooze on his bed, climb onto the bench beside you for pets, rest his head in your lap, and happily spend his time just being loved. He is so special that a company even sponsored his adoption fee to help him find a home. And still, people walk past him.💔💔💔 They come looking for a sweet dog and leave with the puppy. The younger dog. The fluffier dog.
