I think Tinker Tailor and Smiley’s People are among the greatest novels in the language. Honourable Schoolboy badly needed trimming; I was bored by Jerry W’s wanderings though Smiley, Connie etc were great. Perfect Spy also too long and I couldn’t bring myself to care about Magnus Pym. Small Town in Germany was satisfying. But I’m scared even to open Le Carré’s later novels because his politics had become so obnoxious. Any recommendations?
19 October 1931. John le Carré, one of the greatest spy novelists, was born in Poole. His 3rd novel, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, became an international best-seller and was followed by others including Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Smiley’s People and The Constant Gardener.

I don't want Digital ID, now or ever - and I certainly don't trust the state with that level of power over our lives. I made my objections abundantly clear in Parliament this afternoon to the senior civil servants responsible.

Thank you, Poland for giving visa to these beautiful woman. Look at these two faces. One was burned with acid for fighting the Taliban. One was blinded for shouting freedom in Tehran. Now look again. These are the faces the regimes feared most. Fahimeh is from Afghanistan. Her husband threw acid on her face because of her activities against against the Taliban and told her: now I have taken your eyes and your face, people will be scared of you, so I dare you to go out and talk to people. I invited them to come on stage with because I want to dedicate my award to these real activists. She met Kosar, an Iranian woman who was blinded by the Islamic Republic during the Woman life Freedom uprising. Thank you Poland for giving us visas. I am taking these two women to Auschwitz before they go on stage. They will stand on stage in Poland, the face her husband wanted to hide speaking to thousands. I do not see victims. I see heroes. They are not fighting for themselves. They are fighting to protect democracy everywhere from the most dangerous cancer, which is called Islamism. Meanwhile, women sit on death row in Iran right now, waiting for the gallows. Women are being erased from every classroom, every job, every public street under the Taliban. And the whole world is quiet. Where are the women's marches? Where is the outrage? This is why I call on universities across Europe and America: open your doors to these heroes. Invite them. Let the new generation of the West hear the truth from women who paid the price of freedom with their eyes and their faces. Books cannot teach what they have lived.

Knoxville Catholics: resist mightily by kneeling after every mass and reciting the St. Michael Prayer boldly. Defy the demons.
Bishop Mark Beckman just banned the St. Michael Prayer after Mass—for “noble simplicity.” Same bishop who already banned the Traditional Latin Mass. Same spirit, on full display in this video.

I would more than welcome an attempted canonical process for the removal of office as a pastor on the grounds that I “prayed with my people after Mass.” The absurdity would be astounding.

Until gender ideology is erased from government, this nonsense will continue. A public inquiry into how this pernicious ideology has pervaded public bodies is needed.
Part of the new @HMRCgovuk guidance: "Supporting trans and non-binary colleagues." It's despicable & ridiculous that our Civil Service is taking such arrant nonsense seriously. If we can't back out of this, the Protected Characteristic of Gender Reassignment must be removed from the Equality Act.

The Albanian Muslim Ali Pasha, on January 11, 1801, executed the Greek Christian woman Kyra Frosyni together with 17 other Greek women by drowning them in the lake of Ioannina. According to the Islamic customs of the period, women could only be executed at night. In the freezing midnight hours of January 11, the women were all led together into boats on Lake Pamvotida in Ioannina. The executioners threw them into the water, tied up and not inside sacks, as was the Islamic custom. One version states that they were put into sacks, but Frosyni and her servant (possibly her elderly nurse) managed, before being placed in the sacks, to jump into the water tied up and drowned like the rest. Some of the women submitted fatalistically, reciting their prayers, while others shouted "Help!" One of the executioners later said that he had seen many tortures, but he would never forget the faces of the women in the water and that he would wake up many nights hearing their screams in his nightmares. The bodies washed ashore and were buried amid general outrage, but Ali Pasha announced that the Greeks were wrong to protest, since he would have spared their lives if even one of their relatives had appeared in time. For the 18 women, it was also decided to seal their houses at the same time and confiscate their properties. These stories remind us why Islam is not compatible with our countries. “Now, of all silly sayings one of the silliest is the saying, ‘You can’t put the clock back.’ Of course, you can put the clock back and you often do... So in human life and in a nation’s life, if a mistake has been made we ought to put it right, if we can.” Enoch Powell
Breaking News🇬🇧🔥: "The damage has been done, I don't have a magic wand, I can't turn the clock back". Nigel Farage on his renewed reluctance to seriously commit to existential UK mass deportations of the ongoing Deep State planned invasion. Many Reform voters and members are sorry to hear @Nigel_Farage clearly 'backsliding' on mass deportations, this type of rhetoric will only see a continued nosedive in the polls. From his most recent interview with the @Daily_Express - Mr Farage doesn't sound like a leader who is ready to support the mass deportations of the 'Boris Wave', that the UK needs to survive, or get anywhere close to it ideologically. Nigel Farage seems to be at odds with his colleague Mr Yusuf whom, post his party leaders (Steve Edington car crash interview), has spoken of mass deportations and in fairly decent, albeit too low numbers. A Reform brief policy document stated that a government led by Nigel Farage would seek to deport more than 600,000 people in its first parliament. Good, but since this all we've heard is a return to "I don't have a magic wand" or "the damage has been done", subconsciously conceding defeat. This was very promising as it could include a large number of individuals holding indefinite leave to remain, which would be retrospectively revoked if they failed to qualify for the proposed time-limited visas.

Lots of quixotic folk think Britain is reverting to 2-party politics. That Reform is finished, Tories and Labour back. Events in France offer a corrective. Politics as we knew it are over. Demographic change is all. Britain is just behind the French arc. Chaos is immanent. And Reform’s time yet to come.

France will burn into the late morning hours. To what end? So they can harbour millions who hate everything of what is means to be French? Was it worth it? Will it be worth it in Britain, when similar violence inevitably erupts? I think not. We watch as migrants ransack Paris whilst flying the flag of various African countries. Some may have arrived illegally, for most their presence is entirely ‘legal’. Plenty were probably born in France, and are technically ‘French’. For the rioters, evidently, their allegiance is not to France, or to the French people. Where does their loyalty truly lie? Their clan. The civilised world’s response must reflect that. Those convicted for arson, organised violence, and attacks on innocent people must face substantial prison sentences - foreign nationals involved must be removed. Citizenships stripped from dual nationals, obviously. Mass deportations. Act before they do. And in exceptional cases, I would go further. A Restore Britain Government will develop bilateral agreements and mechanisms with third countries to accept second-generation migrant offenders convicted of domestic terrorism and other such serious crimes, who, for now, hold only British citizenship. There will be no statelessness. It will be conducted fairly, and it will cost, but it will be done, and a message will be sent. The French should do the same. If you burn down a city, terrorise law-abiding citizens and torch the society around you - there will be consequences worthy of the crime. And if your allegiance lies elsewhere, and you demonstrate that through terrorism or extreme violence, a Restore Britain Government will send you to the country you claim allegiance to - if that's where your loyalty lies, we will aim to make that a reality. Britain is just a few short years behind France. We’ve had our warning - we must take it.

Certainly the French, Belgian, and Italian riots are proving the Remigrationists’ immediate points - as the doubtless lame and two-tiered regime response shall probably do likewise. But even if they succeed, it shall only be the beginning if Europe is to regain her soul and her place in the World: the latter not for her sake, but for that of the Kingship of Christ.

What we know: 1. She's a member of the French left-wing party and an activist, one of the biggest advocates for opening up migration to North African peoples. 2. She owns a small chic boutique in an upscale spot, she stood in her shop trying to save it from looting and theft telling them that she's a famous activist. 3. She told them I'm so-and-so, the activist for asylum, I'm with you, I've defended you and your entry and stay in France, they spat on her, knocked her down, and trampled her with their feet, good thing she's still alive. 4. And they looted the whole shop, losing all the struggle and work of her lifetime in a moment. Standing there stunned, not believing that these thieving, rabble-rousing, criminal, barbaric hordes are the ones she's spent her whole life defending, and advocating for them to invade her country and destroy it
