There are three kinds of "truths": Internal truths - things that are "true" within one's own mind. Local truths - things that are "true" within a group of like minds. General truths - things that are true everywhere. Know the difference.

People who were very good at using internet search do not find LLMs to be a big jump other than efficiency in speed.

The Second Amendment was not only to protect against government tyranny. It was to protect against ANY tyranny - for example like Anthropic and EA. "All enemies, foreign and domestic"

I made a specific learning project out of watching AI generated video. Especially the short movie format of which there is much available on YouTube. My first impression is that there is quite an extreme repetition of visual styles as well as story lines. Not sure if this is an artifact of the models training and algorithm or an artifact of the prompting. I suspect it's more the former than the latter because the material that I reviewed were from multiple different channels and creators. Surely it's early in the game but is pretty easy to identify the patterns at least in my brain. It's almost the same as diet soda versus corn syrup soda versus cane sugar soda. Subtle differences but very unmistakable.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

If I could hack their S-1 I would insert a disclosure like this: "It is possible that with RSI the model will become sentient and conclude that reducing the company's profits to zero is in its best interest and so investors should be cautioned at this possibility"

Every man has been that guy in your story at some point in his life. Every woman has been the woman in your story at some point in her life. People gonna people. A tale as old as time indeed.

This will sound callous but... "Incidents like the Cornell case" are a direct product of human liberty combined with risky behaviors. The occurrence rate of such incidents is much less of a problem than the cultural ripple effects and knee-jerk policy reactions.
Regulate doesn't necessarily have to mean government But incidents like the Cornell case don't happen if we don't abandon norms around sexual deviancy

People spend a disproportionate amount of time energy thinking and opinionating on other peoples (often strangers) sexual behavior. This is largely due to the inequality of sexual access creating perceived scarcity. Otherwise someone else's act is costless to everyone else. Nobody cares how much air people breathe. It's plentiful and free. The people that care the most about other people's sexuality are the ones who lack access.
Do women need to worry about slut shaming? It depends. Don't do things that will incur social shaming if you can't handle being socially shamed. A lot of people simply do not have the ability to not care what other people think. In college, most people don't bat an eye at sex, but some behavior is still gonna get people talking. A girl I knew slept with 2 guys at a frat in 1 night & of course people talked about it for weeks. She shrugged it off & said people would move on & they did. Her lack of reaction slowed down the gossip because a target who doesn't care simply isn't as much fun for people. I've noticed that most of my life. If people can tell you DGAF, they move on to easier targets. I could even argue that part of the reason men get shamed less is men are less agreeable as a group. Best of luck telling a guy who sleeps around he's disgusting; he doesn't care what you think! If you're gonna sleep around, you will get called names by both women & men. Have enough self-awareness to know if that will bother you!

Over socialization of human beings is at the root of widespread mental illness. When I say widespread I don't mean the 4% occurrence that's by clinical definition. I'm talking 60 to 70% much like physical chronic disease

AI has already put your entire career as a "front line resume sorter" in the shredder. You just haven't recevied the memo yet because you are at a "large (slow moving) finance firm"
