๐จThe Hobbs campaign's recent internal poll has Arizona Democrats so panicked they called in Obama. Her own poll has Biggs now within the margin of error, and undecided voters breaking 2:1 for Biggs. Biggs has captured the momentum and they know it.
But it's important to fact check Obama here, because he paints Hobbs like a conservative immigration hawk who cuts taxes and is tough on crime. This is ridiculous!
CLAIM: Hobbs has cuts taxes on tips and overtime, secured the border, and removed fentanyl from the streets.
TRUTH: She eventually caved and signed a "bipartisan budget" with tax cuts because the conservative legistlature forced them through! Hobbs vetoed multiple earlier versions of similar tax bills to bring state taxes into conformity with the OBBB including SB 1106 in January, HB 2785 in February, and a full GOP budget in May.
TRUTH: Hobbs has blocked 10 different statewide efforts to ensure stricter immigration enforcement, including ensuring local law enforcement works with DHS to honor detention and deportation requests for violent criminals who are arrested. Blocking illegal criminals from deporation is out of step with voters based on polling.
TRUTH: The federal government has taken a whole of government approach to reducing fentalyn flows at the border. As a result they are down 56%. Hobbs and Obama are claiming credit for Trump admin wins because she agreed to fund Arizona National Guard to cooperate with CBP. I'll give this claim a "half-true" rating, but she has been dragging her feet and half measures aren't going to cut it.
Biggs will be much tougher on drug flows, on illegal immigration, and will cut more taxes.
VERDICT: False and very misleading. And Obama showing up is a good sign that they know Biggs is gaining in AZ.
