Today in Coquitlam I committed to getting you care sooner, with shorter waits for scans and surgery.
Right now, how long you wait for surgery can depend on which surgeon you're referred to. For some, that's 10 weeks. For others, it's 50 weeks or more.
Our plan will:
1. Coordinate surgery waitlists, so you'll be able to choose the shortest wait or your preferred doctor
2. Add 8 new MRI machines and 10 CT scanners, including the first-ever MRI at Eagle Ridge Hospital
3. Invest in robotic-assisted surgery for faster recoveries
4. Launch an app to track your referral and see how long you'll wait
5. Bring in more surgeons and specialists through our U.S. recruitment campaign
The BC Conservatives have already admitted that health care would take the brunt of their cuts.
We'd rather ask the wealthiest to chip in a bit more, so you get the care you need, when you need it. That's how we build B.C. strong.
