I can’t imagine why Denmark or Greenland would want this. Why appease Trump when he has threat to take Greenland by force?

Threaten to seize an ally’s territory, and the consequence should be simple: no new negotiations, no new concessions. Ever. You crossed the line.

We will not allow Trump or the US to exploit Greenland at will @Statsmin You made the biggest mistake ever. If this is how you want the pedophile to protect Europe when they don’t have oil, renewables or even Patriots…

Last time something like that was done, the US tried to hide 600 nuclear missiles under the ice. DK needs a no-nukes guarantee, or Greenland would make itself the biggest and earliest target in a first strike attack - its bases would be closest to Russia! History timeline in the attached post:
Replying to @beer_heidrun
If you walk the same ice back in history, the mineral fight and the nuclear risk are not new weather. On 9 April 1941 Henrik Kauffmann, Danish minister in Washington, signed the Agreement Relating to the Defense of Greenland with Cordell Hull. Article I recognised Danish sovereignty and gave the United States the right to build landing fields and "all other necessary measures." German occupied Copenhagen recalled him; Washington kept him; after the war he was pardoned. The 27 April 1951 Defense of Greenland Agreement, signed in Copenhagen, put Thule Air Base on a standing footing. Inuit families were moved off that ground. From 1959 the US Army built Camp Century under the ice as a public "research" city. The hidden plan, Project Iceworm, was a lattice of some 600 medium-range nuclear missiles in tunnels that Copenhagen was not fully told about. The ice moved. The scheme was abandoned in 1967. Waste and a small reactor were left in the sheet. On 21 January 1968 a B-52 from the nuclear airborne alert crashed on the ice near Thule with four hydrogen bombs. Plutonium went into snow and sea. The cleanup was called Project Crested Ice. Denmark had a no-nuclear policy on its territory. The bombs had been there anyway. In August 2019 Trump asked to buy the island. Frederiksen said it was not for sale. In 2021 Nuuk tightened the uranium rule that still blocks Kvanefjeld as designed. In July 2026 Greenland Energy landed gear at Jameson Land without a green light; Hammeken-Holm answered with a warning, not a welcome. On 1 September the Commission put money on Greenlandic minerals. On 16 September it offered Canada an associate track built on the same minerals. On 18 September Washington announced a veto on who may invest. That is the sequence. A nuclear missile silo is not in the leaked lines. Iceworm and the Thule crash are what "necessary measures" looked like the last time the same powers wrote on this ice.

Hmm🤔 I wonder what Trump said to the Danes for them to stop acting like they had a corncob up their ass? You know, like "We're too good to talk to you, Orange Man. Don't disturb us, we're busy hunting children." I'd love to know how he sealed the deal.

A piece of good advice for Greenlanders and Danes is to pay attention to whether Trump signs the agreement in pencil.

A sovereignty that retains the flag and formal institutions but PERMANENTLY limits which foreign capital can enter Greenland. If the purpose is to defend Greenland against Russia or China, why is it necessary to grant the U.S. permanent and specific rigths?

When the Danish PM said, “We will not negotiate Greenland’s sovereignty,” she was already granting Trump an opening to his art of the scam. Would to God she had instead said: “Fuck You!” Sovereignty ceases the moment it becomes a discussion. This will be learned the hard way...

I can understand why the Danes in the chat are upset, however I view this as a good compromise. Denmark/Greenland maintain sovereignty. USA/NATO gets protection from the north. China/Russia are shutout from development. @lookner

Trump does NOTHING unless he can profit personally. You have obviously caved in to some horrifying demand from the dying lunatic. This will not end well, you WILL regret it. Delay, delay, delay as Trump does. He's dying & when he's dead, this can be reviewed by sane people.
