I agree with this fellow veteran, and as a United States Army veteran myself, I understand the anger, frustration, and deep sense of betrayal he is expressing. We raised our right hands and swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. We served with pride, believing in our country, our freedoms, and the principles generations of American service members fought and died to protect. And now, many of us feel betrayed by the very government we swore to defend. We watch political agendas take priority over the safety and well-being of American citizens, while the sacrifices of our veterans and their families seem to be forgotten. That sense of betrayal cuts deep. We gave years of our lives in service to this nation. Some of our brothers and sisters gave everything. We didn't make those sacrifices expecting perfection from our government, but we certainly expected integrity, accountability, and loyalty to the Constitution. We haven't turned our backs on America. We feel as though those entrusted with leading her have turned their backs on us. Our love for this country has never wavered.
