After 10.5 years, three visas and a lot of £££, I have finally got around to getting my British citizenship. Please enjoy this heavily cropped photo to avoid showing (a) the King, (b) my personal data, and (c) my kid. Blessed to now be "an Australian with a British passport".

These measures were stunningly effective. Over 2007, Brisbaners voluntarily reduced water consumption to less than 129L/p/d. Before the drought ended in 2008, dam levels had stabilised at around 16 per cent of capacity, well above the crisis level predicted.

Lastly, although there were lots of ways to save water, Target 140 identified one simple thing: long showers were accounting for 33% of residential water use, so they distributed a million 4-min timers, and got radio stations to play 4-min "shower songs" throughout the morning.

They did good user research - they identified a misconception that residential water use didn't matter (actually it was 70% of water usage), and pointed their messaging at addressing that. piped.video/watch?v=EOlLG7cU…

In 2007, Brisbane had rainfall <10% of average, and projected dam levels would fall to below 6% if current trends continued. But by 2007 a bucketload (a drought-time standard unit of measure) of structural and regulatory measures had already been implemented.

Let me tell you about Brisbane, Australia, in 2007. It’s fair to say, the 2000s in Australia were not a good time to be a plant. El Niño arrived sometime in the late 1990s and hung around until 2010, when La Niña arrived and flooded half the country.

This looks like a #nudge to me because (a) there is a lot of BI crammed in there (top of the queue, priority, free) and (b) the wording ended up a bit awkward which does happen when you try to cram a lot of BI into a single message.

Though "connects to MBTI, enneagram and astrology" isn't exactly a ringing endorsement.
My Scottish grandfather joined the merchant navy at 13 in 1937, had two ships sunk from under him in WWII, and ended up in Australia, where he transferred to the RAN at age 19 (!) in 1943. A complicated, interesting man that I was lucky to get to know better just before he died.
We are proudly flying the flag for #MerchantNavyDay remembering the brave men and women who risked their lives during both World Wars and to celebrate those working at sea today. bit.ly/Merchant_NavyDay
Johnson has nothing to lose if he genuinely wants a No Deal Brexit: either he suspends parliament and we leave while it’s not sitting; or he loses a vote of no confidence, and fights an election while we leave without a deal. I bet he prefers the latter bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-4…
