Trading isn't a get rich scheme.
Our industry gets a bad rap because of many companies who promise "You can turn $5,000 into $500,000 in 2 years" when that's incredibly difficult... especially for new traders.
It's not uncommon for a new trader to go through a string of good luck & believe they've 'cracked the code.'
Only for the market to chop them up.
Or they oversize on the wrong trades and it wipes them out.
Our T3 Traders all have stories of getting their heads handed to them multiple times.
Trading is a game of getting hit and getting back up again.
And you'll find the answer isn't 'I need a better indicator" or "I need to study more charts"
As
@epictrades1 says a lot... "My edge isn't my IQ, it's my EQ."
Being able to hold your wits (and your position) when your stock goes against you but your conviction is high.
You don't necessarily want to trade 'without emotion.' You want to be able to trade despite your emotion.
You'll never be a robot, especially when your life savings is on the line.
When you get knocked down, that's the best time to take a step back, do a little more reviewing of your trades and even take a break for a bit.
If you're feeling like quitting, don't buy another course or another trading room. That's not the answer.
Sometimes, it's time away and coming back later with a small account, smaller position sizing and rebuilding.
Here's the caveat...
Trading alone is a tough proposition. You're trying to make decisions in a vacuum. Which can be incredibly dangerous.
Once you're ready to get on the horse and have your head in the right place, find a place where you can get called out for bad behavior.
...where 'winners' aren't just who made the most money... but were actually making good decisions despite how much they made.
@9LivesTrading when you take some time away and come back, send us a message and we'll hook you up with some free courses, etc. to help you out. Hope the family is well.
Sunday night I will cash out the $50 I have left in RH. Then I will delete the app. Then I will delete X off my phone. Trading is nothing but toxic and devastating for me and my marriage. Good look to you. Not sure how you always do so well. I have been trading for years. No more
