Just Out: The new TLN book by @TLN_DC's Senior Fellow, Dr. Roudi Baroudi "The Wars of the Straits - #HormuzCase". The book combines geopolitical narrative with rigorous legal and technical analysis: the international law governing the Strait, the practicalities of alternative pipeline routes, the economic and environmental fallout of disrupted shipping, and the naval and commercial engagements of the 2026 war itself. Following an investigation by the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Unit, my personal office and the home of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency were targeted by Iranian drone attacks earlier today. I condemn these reckless and unacceptable attacks in the strongest terms. This is a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region. These attacks will not deter us from carrying out our duties and protecting our citizens. Masrour Barzani Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region

We strongly condemn the attack on our friend and valued Kurdish partner, Kurdistan Region Prime Minister @masrourbarzani, and his office in Erbil. Such aggression against our trusted Kurdish allies is unacceptable and a direct threat to regional stability. We will not condone or tolerate these hostilities. We fully support Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s leadership in restoring Iraq’s full sovereignty and ensuring all weapons and security forces remain under the authority of the Iraqi state.

Today, @ChinaSelect and @EdWorkforceCmte released a new investigative report exposing more details on @Harvard's relationship with CCP-linked entities tied to China's military and human rights abuses. The investigation, found that “Harvard systematically prioritized lucrative financial ties over American national security and ignored its institutional responsibilities.” The investigation found: •Harvard set up "Harvard Global," a non-profit apparently built to circumvent federal foreign-donation disclosure laws — and deleted the language from its website after seeing the Committee's draft. •Its Chan School of Public Health ran a health executive education seminar that was potentially attended by a Chinese paramilitary group sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department. •A senior Harvard compliance official said he did "not dispute" that China is committing genocide against the Uyghurs. •Another university lead compliance official refused to categorically rule out research collaborations with the Chinese military. Fourteen years later, our commitment to bring Austin Tice home has not changed. We remain focused on resolving this case and securing his return.
Today marks the 14th year of Austin Tice's detention by the former Syrian regime. The #FBI remains committed to finding the truth about Austin's detention. We continue to evaluate information and develop leads, including efforts to recover his possessions, which could provide details concerning his captivity. While stories about Austin's status have been widely published, the FBI's focus is establishing the facts and securing Austin's return. We continue to offer a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to his return. If you have information about Austin's current whereabouts, the details of his detention, or those responsible, email FindAustinTice@fbi.gov or submit a tip via tips.fbi.gov. China-linked scam syndicates are stealing Americans' retirement and life savings while corrupting foreign governments to shield their operations from law enforcement. @RepShreve and Chairman @RepMoolenaar’s bipartisan Dismantle Foreign Scam Syndicates Act would dismantle these criminal networks and protect Americans from CCP-backed exploitation.

Iran’s regime just sentenced a 22-year-old rapper to death. Not for murder. Not for terrorism. For slogans, dissent, for refusing to shut up. Simply for demanding freedom and protesting against oppression. His name is Mehnam Navab-Safavi. He was arrested, forced to confess, denied a real trial, and now faces execution. And somehow the international community still treats Iran’s rulers like difficult diplomats instead of what they are: executioners with embassies and good lobbyists in the West. In the past two weeks alone, at least 50 protesters have reportedly had death sentences issued, upheld, or carried out. So I call on all rappers, singers, celebrities who post ten slides about free speech, now please be his voice. Because this is free speech with a noose around its neck. Please use your platform and demand that Iran’s regime stop the execution of Mehnam Navab-Safavi. #SaveMehnamNavabSafavi #StopExecutionsInIran

Concluding 2 days of negotiations with Lebanese and American officials, I’m looking forward to the next steps. The peace talks were frank and constructive, and are set to move forward on two tracks: security and political. There will be ups and downs, but the potential for success is great. What will be paramount throughout negotiations is the security of our citizens and our soldiers.
On May 14 and 15, the United States hosted two days of highly-productive talks between Israel and Lebanon. The April 16 cessation of hostilities will be extended by 45 days to enable further progress. The State Department will reconvene the political track of negotiations on June 2 and June 3. In addition, a security track will be launched at the Pentagon on May 29 with military delegations from both countries. We hope these discussions will advance lasting peace between the two countries, full recognition of each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and establishing genuine security along their shared border.
