There’s a reason kids in Gaza paint your portrait, Anna… YOU are an example to us all! You have more backbone, courage, and integrity than most public figures combined!

Thanks to @thejournal_ie for discussing our call for the de-proscription of Palestine Action and the release of Fergie Chambers. Our film is by no means a celebration of Chambers but the legal case against him does not align with what we witnessed. thejournal.ie/sinead-oshea-p…

The past 20 days have marked one of the most monolithic pushes by British media to vilify the Zionism is Racism Green Party motion. Imbalanced coverage would be an understatement. The papers wrote 447 articles on the Greens' Zionism vote. Israel, pro-Israel groups and the Chief Rabbi got 12,133 words. Palestinians got 3,173. Any institution that parades as a "news outlet" can no longer be taken seriously if it covers this motion without also covering the people, Palestinians, who have endured, suffered and been oppressed the most by the ideology in action. What the figures show: • Israel's government alone got 3,904 words. More than every Palestinian put together. • 2,422 of the 3,173 Palestinian words came in stories tying Lubna Speitan, the Palestinian who proposed the motion, to al-Qaeda. • Apart from Lubna, two Palestinians were quoted across 436 articles, for 76 words between them. Nobody in Gaza, the occupied West Bank or Lebanon was quoted at all. • Lubna told the Telegraph that 56 members of her family had been killed in Gaza. One article mentioned it: the Telegraph's own al-Qaeda story, in paragraph 44 of 51. • Lubna has received death and rape threats since the vote. Al Jazeera reported it. None of the 447 British articles did. • 43 articles said, in the paper's own voice, that the motion meant the destruction or abolition of Israel. The motion calls for one state with "equal rights for all". • 36 headlines said antisemitism. Not one of 447 said genocide. • 304 of the 436 articles we read in full never mentioned the genocide at all. • 0 of 89 comment pieces backed the motion. • The Daily Mail ran 38 articles on the motion, and in that time, just 2 on Israel's ongoing attacks across Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. Proud to have signed this open letter. It’s not opponents of genocide who should be arrested. It’s those who facilitated the crime of crimes

Reading Benjamin Moser’s accessible & important new book and thinking about the panellists’ extremely hostile reaction (below) to factual statements by Ashok and how our political media class’s careers/status must depend on them refusing to acknowledge lucid scholarship like this
Went on BBC Politics Live to discuss why Zionism is a racist ideology. The anchor and all three panelists looked like they were about to cry at the end. Very weird behaviour. Join the Green Party.

Alleged killer of Hind Rajab traveling freely in the United States —— The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed an urgent request with the US Department of Justice demanding the immediate arrest and criminal prosecution of an Israeli military officer currently traveling freely in the United States, according to a public filing by the organization. The petition targets Sean Glass, a former company commander in the Israeli army whose occupation unit is directly implicated in the cold-blooded killing of six-year-old Hind Rajab, her family members, and the first responders dispatched to save her in Gaza City. Extensive investigative findings place Glass and his "Vampire Empire" company—operating under the 52nd Armored Battalion—in the immediate vicinity of the family's vehicle during the massacre, which saw Israeli occupation forces shell and riddle the civilian car with hundreds of bullets. The legal advocacy group warned that allowing an officer accused of egregious war crimes and acts of genocide to walk unbothered on US soil represents an intolerable collapse of international law and universal jurisdiction.

Jason Alexander is and was featured prominently on “Friends of the IDF” marketing material pretty consistently. This tidbit about him being protected by Palestinians from roving gangs of IDF troops terrorizing Palestinians means nothing fuck him
Jason Alexander says he feared visiting Palestine as a Jew until 10 Palestinians protected him during an Israeli army raid in Ramallah “How much of a risk would I be taking as an American Jew walking into Palestinian cities? And Mohammed said, ‘The greatest dishonor that could happen to a religious Muslim is to allow harm to come to an invited guest’” “And he said, ‘Jason, if they had to, they’ll take a bullet for you.’ And what was so interesting about that trip is, we were having lunch in Ramallah with a bunch of actors and artists at a sort of outdoor restaurant” “And the Israeli army was conducting a raid on a bank that they thought had terrorist ties a couple blocks away. And they must have, to announce themselves, just shot into the air. And I remember 10 of those guys at the table surrounding me. And I went, ‘Oh my God, he wasn’t kidding. They’re not going to let me get hurt’”
