You truly cannot make this up. In a major undercover operation dubbed Project Red Zone, Peel Regional Police seized 23 illegal firearms, more than 950 rounds of ammunition and 824 grams of cocaine. Investigators say the weapons were linked to 14 GTA shootings, including a fatal March 2024 shooting in Mississauga.
Akshaya Srikanthan, 24, faces 18 charges, including 11 counts of firearm trafficking and seven counts of drug trafficking. She appeared in court and was granted bail.
Police spent months working undercover to get illegal guns off the streets. The case now raises an obvious question about Canada’s bail system: with allegations this serious, what does it take for an accused firearms trafficker to be held in custody pending trial?

But where does denialism end and scrutiny begin? Five years after more than 200 potential burials were identified using GPR at Kamloops, no human remains from those findings have been confirmed through excavation.
The residential school system and thousands of deaths are documented. Questioning specific claims is not the same as denying that history.
