It is unacceptable that our government would even consider handing over an iota of Canadian sovereignty to bureaucrats 5000 km away! This is anti-democratic and borderline sinister, given how obviously premeditated it is. From an economic standpoint, increasing trade with the EU makes sense, but hitching ourselves to that regulatory anchor is self harm.

📢 Mark Carney – “I’m a good negotiator, I’ve negotiated a number of situations in the past, I know how to manage a crisis.” 👀 Let’s watch the good negotiator in action on steel & aluminum tariffs. 📅 March 6, 2025 – 🇺🇸 imposes 25% tariffs. 🇨🇦 puts in equal counter-tariffs. 📅 June 4, 2025 - 🇺🇸 doubles tariffs to 50%. 🇨🇦 doesn’t retaliate. ⏰ 14 months passes… 📅 August 19, 2026 – Steel & aluminum tariffs are reduced to 25%. 🤣 I’m Mark Carney, I’m the best of them all, I’m a great negotiator…

🚨ERASING WOMEN’S HISTORY🚨 Yesterday at the prestigious Mt. SAC Invitational, a trans-identified boy, AB Hernandez of Jurupa Valley High School, TRIPLED 🥇🥇🥇leaping 19-4 to win the long jump, spanning a distance of 41-7.5 to win the triple jump title, then cleared 5-10 to win the high jump. According to the interviewer, the last time an athlete won all 3 jumps at Mt. SAC, it was Wendy Brown in the 1980s! Brown went on to be a national NCAA champion for @USC before competing in the Olympics. @GavinNewsom, when will this state-sanctioned misogyny and abuse of women and girls end?

This is what I've been saying about Canada. The fearmongering is absolutely crazy and honestly this is perhaps one of the biggest reasons why Carney may have caved to ease off just a little for the fuel tax rather than giving us full relief.
Replying to @MarkJCarney
Liberal voters: this is the reason Carney is ACTUALLY cutting the gas tax. Because he sees what's happening in Ireland and, as the born coward he is, he's shit-scared. Always remember: there's no such thing as a liberal with integrity. Stop trying.

It didn't... it bribed it's way into a majority. Because it wasn't at all election night... the federal election literally happened a year ago. Absolutely terrible for Canadian democracy.
It’s official! Our PM and Liberal Government has earned a majority! #LiberalMajority❤️🙌🏻💪🏻

A new academic study published in Acta Paediatrica followed over 2,000 trans teens and young people who received "gender-affirming" care. After treatment, mental health problems became more common, not less, and these trans people remained several times more likely to need psychiatric care than their non-trans peers. Psychiatric morbidity surged especially among those who transitioned medically through surgeries and/or cross-sex hormones. The study's findings are part of a growing body of research showing no improvements or even worse outcomes for people who transition, contradicting the claims from the ACLU, GLAAD, and leftist trans activists. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

"The result is I'm a 23-year old gay man who's never had an orgasm and may never experience one. Let that sink in." Jonni Skinner tells the California legislature's judiciary committee how he was puberty blocked, dosed with estrogen and rendered anorgasmic as a minor by gender clinicians that never inquired into the source of his gender confusion as a child and instead put him on a pipeline to a lifetime of medicalization. Full text of his comments below: "When I was young, I was a feminine child, and I discovered trans influencers online. They said: 'Change your body and your life gets better. Don't and it gets worse.' Or, as my doctors told my mom, I would commit suicide. The medical and mental health providers didn't bother to ask why I felt the way I did. They poisoned my body with blockers and hormones, arresting my puberty and messing with my development. The result is I'm a 23 year old gay man who's never had an orgasm and may never experience one. Let that sink in. I was rendered anorgasmic because once you say you could be trans, that's a full stop -- no exploration as to why is allowed, even if you are struggling. The former president of WPATH, Dr Marcy Bowers, the California surgeon who had performed the surgery for Jazz Jennings at 17, admitted on video that puberty blockers, followed by cross sex hormones, results in no orgasms and stunted genitals. SB, 934 guarantees that more people will end up like me, the walking but wounded. I could have been spared all of this, if any of my therapists would have explored why I felt dysphoric. But they never did. They only led me to hate my body more. The Supreme Court just ruled in a rare bipartisan decision that laws like this are unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination. This bill is an attempted workaround that will be used to silence therapists who could have helped me avoid the irreversible harms to my body and the loss of my sexual function as is the same for many others. So today, I ask you to extend some empathy to survivors like me and vote no for this bill."

I replied to MP Dean Allison, pointing out that he voted Nay on Bill C-306 in 2012. The bill would have forced any MP who switches parties to resign and trigger a by-election, giving voters the final say. Apparently he didn’t like that I brought it up. At the end of the day, my point still stands. Constituents are shaken as the democratic process is sidelined. There was an MP who strongly supported their party for years and suddenly forced a Conservative-majority riding into the opposing party with no transparent reason or voter say. Going independent was an option. So what was the real incentive? The same can be asked for all the other floor crossings that make little sense and are horrifying in the sense that there is a complete lack of transparency with the Liberals, especially with someone like Michael Ma. I’m left-leaning and voted for the Liberals when I was a student, but I’m not blind to what went down during Trudeau’s time as Prime Minister. I even looked into Carney because I had absolutely no idea who he was when he ran for party leader and understood (especially knowing his role in Trudeau’s government and his past work and even spending money on his book to read it) that having virtually the same government in power wouldn’t have been good and that things in some areas had gotten out of hand, especially with the authoritarian tendencies the Liberals have been showing. Having a father who escaped the oppression of the Cuban regime makes me very hyper-aware of things along with any other diaspora group with similar concerns who escaped from places of intense socialism or communism. And my gut feeling was correct because our economy is suffering from extremely bad policies and I am not one to blame things on external factors entirely and then there’s the push for draconian censorship laws. So I changed my vote to Conservative for 2025 because I care about Canada’s economic prosperity and I think being too rigid either far left or far right is not the way to go, nor do I have any fondness for extreme ideologies that I’ve seen displayed as of late for the past few years. I do not think the Liberals are ideal at this moment in time with how the party currently stands and will try as best I can to aim for actual equality and democracy when I approach any topic with much needed nuance. While I did not do this out of malice, I wanted to make a point and hope for the possibility of revisiting that bill because this is now a glaring loophole and problem that a majority of Canadians are against. So, I don’t apologize if I hit a nerve, @DeanAllisonMP. Being a politician in a democracy also means receiving criticism with grace. ourcommons.ca/Members/en/vot…

Canadians face human rights complaints over “misgendering,” which amounts to compelled speech, which obviously violates free speech as protected by section 2(b) of the Charter. At the same time, emerging research continues to examine the long-term health outcomes associated with gender transition procedures. A recent Finnish study found adolescents showed a significant increase in mental health issues after receiving medical gender reassignment surgery or hormones. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/… Several Western European countries have restricted or banned such interventions for minors, citing concerns about safety and informed consent. In contrast, Canada’s legal, academic and medical establishments continue to promote these practices. westernstandard.news/news/st…

Yesterday was a big day for us. We transitioned out of the ICU into a more recovery and rehab-focused unit, and it’s now been 26 hours since Maya’s EVD was removed for the second time. So far, everything is looking positive. She doesn’t seem to be in as much pain, and we’re starting to see a little more energy and color come back. She’s still not a fan of the boot for the pressure sore on her heel doing her best to kick it off whenever she can but her movements are becoming much more intentional. Our time in the PICU, for lack of a better word, has been a whirlwind filled with both highs and lows for Maya, but slowly we're making some more progress. And then came a moment today that completely overwhelmed me. OT and Physio came in, and with their help, Maya was able to sit up on the edge of the bed. This was huge for two reasons. First, she was using her own muscles to help support herself (with assistance), and second… I was finally able to wrap my arms around my daughter. Really wrap my arms around her and hold her tight. I can’t even begin to put into words what that hug felt like. All I wanted in that moment was to lift her up, hold her close, and never let go. We’re getting there, my little Maya Bear 🐻 I love you so much ❤️
