👋 Welcome to Break Week#1! No schedule. No worries. Just community. 😎 For the next two weeks, TTC is taking a break from scheduled Discord activities, S.A.D.s and Spaces. But don't worry, we're still around! ⚒️While we prepare to come back at full speed in September, we'll also be using the break to work behind the scenes, improving some of our community tools, including our Tezos Tools Index, and opening up TTCrowd, our crowdfunding dapp, so anyone in the community can use it. And of course... there will still be some fun! 👀 🎁 Giveaways 🎮 Pop-up games on Discord 🎬 A Movie Quiz with a community twist that is already waiting for you... We just don't know when we'll play it. NO SCHEDULES, remember? 😜 So stay tuned for the calls, and be ready to jump in whenever something pops up! And remember, at TTC you don't need to wait for a scheduled activity to have fun. Just start them yourselves and have fun! Before we crawl completely into the shadows, we also want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported and contributed to TTC's community funding campaign through TTCrowd. ❤️ ✔️With Phase 3 now secured, TTC can cover the operational costs we can't volunteer around, such as server costs and licenses, until 2028. It also gives us some breathing room to work on making TTC more sustainable. We'll be replacing parts of our WordPress setup that currently depend on specific hosting and paid plugins, with some community members already offering their time and expertise to help, StrongerTogether style! 💡The goal is simple: make TTC's infrastructure less expensive and more sustainable to run beyond this funding period. And just to be clear: TTCrowd funds are not used for our weekly activities or for collecting art during S.A.D.s. The campaign is our alternative way of funding the operational costs covered by the original community proposal (Jan 2024), now that Tezos Homebase DAO at Agora is no longer an option. That's also why we'll continue asking for your support in the #TezosCRP awards. This escalated quickly. 😅 Huge thank you to @TransparentArt for the challenge, the matching, and to everyone who jumped in. Phase 1 and 2 are now fully funded. ❤️ A bit of context on why we're doing this now, and why we're doing it this way ⬇️⬇️ TTC has always been a community project, run entirely by volunteers. Our weekly events, prizes and activities have been made possible by community donations and #TezosCRP awards. But in 2023, we wanted to do more. For the first and only time, we asked for help covering the operational expenses we simply couldn't volunteer our way around: hosting our HubPage and Events Calendar, software licenses, subscriptions to help boost our social presence and reach, and other costs paid mostly in fiat. TTC's first major operational funding came through a Tezos Ecosystem DAO grant for 2 years of operations, paid on February 2, 2024 ➡️ forum.tezosagora.org/t/thete… We actually started earlier, we covered the largest first-year expenses ourselves in October 2023. Then, in December, support from @cryptonio and an anonymous community donor helped us complete the budget needed for things like Elementor and our Tezos calendar tooling. Through careful budgeting, plus some later in-kind support such as donated licenses, we managed to stretch those resources far enough to cover most of a third year. Now we're entering year 4, and the Tezos Ecosystem DAO is no longer an option... With $XTZ at its current price, our remaining treasury wasn't enough to cover even Phase 1, the core expenses for 2026/27. So rather than look for another traditional funding source, we wanted to try something more transparent, measurable and sustainable, so TTC's Guardian @webidente developed a crowdfunding tool to ask for your support 🫂TTCrowd: crowd.purplematter.com/ StrongerTogether #Tezos ⬇️
