BREAKING: Trump’s DHS Hunts Ilhan Omar’s Citizenship While the First Lady’s Own Immigration Story Gets a Free Pass.
Border Czar Tom Homan has confirmed that Homeland Security Investigations is looking into decade-old allegations that Omar committed immigration fraud through her marriage. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin told a Republican crowd that “something’s going to happen.” JD Vance claims she “definitely committed immigration fraud.” Omar has repeatedly denied the allegations, there are no charges, and there is no public record of any denaturalization case against her.
Omar came to this country as a child refugee fleeing civil war in Somalia. She became a citizen in 2000 as a teenager, won election to Congress, and has served her Minnesota constituents ever since. Her real offense, in the eyes of this administration, is being a Black, Muslim, outspoken woman who refuses to bow to Donald Trump. Trump himself has mocked her “little turban” at a rally.
Now compare that to the woman living in the White House.
Melania Trump came to the United States from Slovenia in 1996 on a visitor visa. Records reported by the Associated Press in 2016 showed she was paid for ten modeling jobs in the U.S. in the weeks before she had legal authorization to work here. She later received an EB-1 green card, the so-called “Einstein visa” reserved for people of “extraordinary ability.”
She then married Donald Trump, a man who spent years socializing with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and once called him a “terrific guy.” Her son was born a U.S. citizen under the same birthright citizenship protections her husband is now trying to gut. Her parents later became citizens through family sponsorship, the very “chain migration” Trump rails against.
Nobody at DHS is investigating any of that. No podcast threats from the Vice President. No Fox News segments from Tom Homan.
If Trump can threaten to strip a congresswoman’s citizenship for political payback, no naturalized American is safe. Not the nurse, not the small business owner, not the veteran.
