🗣️Attention Athletes (especially you 2026 NFL Draft eligible prospects) BE SPRINTING!! With NFL Rookie Minicamps coming up soon after this weekend’s draft you should be sprinting @ or near max speed 1-2 times per week. I despise fear mongering on social media but the truth is, for a late-round or UDFA guy, a hamstring injury early in camp can be a death sentence for their playing career. The best way to lessen that risk? Sprinting. A retrospective analysis published in 2023 (PMID: 37867737) correlated consistent near-max sprinting exposure with a significant reduction in hamstring injury risk. In fact, out of the 600+ players under observation, those who reached 95% (or higher) of their recorded maximum speed 2 days before a game had 0 instances of hamstring strains. For most 🏈 players that 95% threshold is likely in the ~20-22.3 MPH range. If you don’t have access to GPS I highly suggest using laser timers to performed 10-yard Flys, simply set them up (at approximately hip height) 10-yards apart and give yourself 20-30 yards to get up to top speed before gate 1. The following chart will tell you the time to speed achieved; 0.91 = 22.48 0.92 = 22.23 0.93 = 22 0.94 = 21.8 0.95 = 21.54 0.96 = 21.32 0.97 = 21.1 0.98 = 20.87 0.99 = 20.66 1.00 = 20.45 1.01 = 20.25 1.02 = 20.05 1.03 = 19.86

People are 💩ing on Rivals for this move but forgetting that every state has some local “recruiting site” that hosts its own camp & charges kids to go for evals that no one beyond mom & dad ever see. THEN charge the parents for the pics from the camp🤦‍♂️ …at least w/ Rivals you’re getting fleeced at the national level 😂
Plenty of people have expressed their opinions on this, but what do actual college decision-makers think? Here are 3 quotes from current general managers in college football.  P4 GM: "Exposure has never been easier.  College summer camps, summer combines/camps, increased unofficial visits, larger game day visits, easy access to putting your film online (HUDL).  Most kids that aren’t being recruited by the schools they want to be isn’t a visibility issue; it’s a talent issue.  High School families don’t need to be paying to get evaluated.  They should start with their HS coaches and find out how to become a better football player."  P4 GM: "They’re just trying to make money on the dreams of the players who wouldn’t get recruited anyway. Are there now more spots for FBS teams to take players? No. They’ll just rank more players who paid for it, but the opportunities don’t expand. The number of scholarships given out by programs remains the same. Excited for the meltdown because On3 is a market driver for NIL and this opens the door for families to pay them to rank them higher for more NIL."  G5 GM: "To me, it's all stupid. Anybody who's paying for these rankings or evaluations is already in the wrong. The priority should just be to be a really good high school football player, and you're going to be recruited, and you're going to get ranked.
"Are these parents even going to listen when they get a rating back that says they're an FCS-level player? Probably not. They'll probably just spend more money trying to change what they are. They'll keep spending money on things until they get the answer they want to hear, but the film isn't going to change from Friday nights."

Wasn’t this a plot line in the TV show “The Americans”?
🇺🇸‼️ A network of Russian agents supplying Russian software to the Secret Service has been uncovered in the US, - NYP. The CEO of an American technology company, Lee Reiber, has been charged with concealing Russian control over a company that received a US Secret Service contract to supply software. American helped Russian citizens conceal their ownership of Oxygen Forensics so it could receive US government contracts. Prosecutors allege that 55-year-old Reiber conspired with 52-year-old Russian citizen Oleg Davydov to conceal the company's Russian ties and promote its software to US government agencies. If convicted, both men face up to 20 years in prison.

Game speed is two things: 1. The first 4 steps (Acceleration) 2. How high the ceiling is (Max Velocity) Fresh legs. Full intent. Acute shin angles. You don’t get either from tired athletes running in third gear. Speed is the skill. Fatigue is the enemy.

This.. Plus… 1. If you have an ex teammate that is now in CFB, ask yourself is your film is as good as his was before you say you should go to a bigger school than he went to 2. Quit chasing fools gold..FILM is all that matters 3. Be realistic about who you are as a player
Avoid tagging a bunch of different college coaches in your general film posts. Instead, send it to them and their fellow staff members directly.

Intent is probably the biggest difference between an effective & ineffective warm-up. Half-ass any approach and your strain risk probably goes up. In 400+ MiLB games, I recall 1 OF straining a quad. Ironically, happened to be the guy who always said, “cheetahs don’t warm up” 🤦‍♂️
In ’98, the Dodgers brought in coaches who introduced dynamic warm-ups instead of traditional stretching. I remember 5–6 guys pulling muscles during practice. We blamed the new warm-up. We were SOLD on stretching. In 2010, when I earned my doctorate, stretching routines were still the norm. Then research like this came along: Stretching alone showed no significant injury-prevention benefit. 28 years later… are we warming athletes up based on evidence—or tradition?
