At least make a third where the mirror ass looks back at a real lion. Then you'd be ready to call in that ass Zizek.

'Cause you play the wrong game. Find one master who lived what he preached and follow his footsteps.

"There is a point in every philosophy at which the “conviction” of the philosopher appears on the scene; or, to put it in the words of an ancient mystery: Adventavit asinus, pulcher et fortissimus." (“The ass arrived, beautiful and most valiant.”) --Beyond Good and Evil, 8.

once someone gets deep into philosophy, you can’t casually tell them that their perspective has changed because it becomes an intense conversation. Just nod.

No, I think the point is to not even look in the mirror. To forget yourself & contemplate truth is the point. It's neither a bragging right nor a measure against oneself. Philosophy is the accumulation of human thoughts throughout the ages, it's the great conversation —with you included. And it's a privilege to behold. It's wonderful, useful & brings great satisfaction to know what others have thought. When I read & listen to the great authors & philosophers, I forget myself. I think, that for the moment, I'm not alone but surrounded by a thousand teachers & truth seekers like myself.
