The most unknown and interesting fact with Titanic is its direct connection to establishing he Federal Reserve:
J.P. Morgan, the most powerful banker pushing a U.S. central bank after 1907, controlled the company that owned the Titanic.
He reserved a suite for the maiden voyage and canceled shortly before departure.
Three of the biggest opponents of the Federal Reserve, the era’s richest independent industrialists—John Jacob Astor IV, Benjamin Guggenheim, and Isidor Straus, were on Titanic and ALL died when the ship sank in April 1912.
The Federal Reserve Act was signed shortly after in 1913.
Pretty interesting connection: owner and leading Fed advocate missed the ship; three prominent wealthy men did not; the central bank followed the next year.
Not saying the ship was sunk on purpose, but who knows. The two following years changed the world completely
