NEW… GUNTER ISD trustees unanimously APPROVE midyear termination of ⚾️ Coach Daryl Hellman’s contract. Superintendent Enos had recommended ousting Hellman, citing “inappropriate comments.” Trustee Meyerdirk said “It was not an easy decision, but the focus is always on the safety of the students.” No other public discussion or details, as is usual in these cases. The vote followed an hour and 40 minutes in closed session. Hellman will have 15 days after receiving notice of termination to request a hearing.
