Great comment. Still so much to do to help that. HB6 was passed last year as a way to remove violent students from classrooms and even implement virtual school to remove a chronic problem student. It gets complicated because there are students with federal protections when their behavior is considered part of a diagnosis. Is it being implemented? Is anyone enforcing it? A ROOT of the failures of schools to protect all from violence is essentially the difference between leadership that puts people first or public image first. Learning first, or money first. Say violence happens... Straight up bullying gets reported as "code of conduct violation." Felony assault gets reported as "mutual combat." Liars who code falsely get away with it because there is so much student privacy in that specific area. (...But trustees can see everything....they just don't look.) We like to #GoAtTheRoots and identify the ROOT CAUSE. Bad boards. Bad supers. Bad lawyers. "Game players" promoted. Administrators who don't back up teachers and address bullying. Teacher who don't speak up because they know retaliation is real. --- Good school boards demand good superintendents. Good superintendents don't tolerate bad behavior in classrooms. With fantastic senior leaders, MOST problems would disappear or get mitigated. Standards of expectations would rise and the kids would start to stretch toward that. Fewer grievances (oops, lawyer gets paid less). Fewer lawsuits (oops, lawyer gets paid less). Less controversy (oops, lawyer gets paid less). Fewer calls to the lawyer to ask how to do the job (oops, lawyer gets paid less). If we want to see the fastest school climate turnaround - barring federal law changes - we fix our school board-superintendent relationship, their competencies and accountability. We bring major transparency and change state law so that the Education Code is enforced. The approach has been treating the symptoms, not the disease. #GoAtTheRoots #txlege

Pretty great to see young people give of themselves to learn. NOTHING can replace high-level on-the-job experience. Employers should take it over a college degree almost anytime.

Let's make this very clear to local law enforcement? Even if there are ISD police, if a crime by a school employee is reported to you, it's your jurisdiction. Don't call the superintendent. We can't have fingers pointed: "Hello, Runaround PD? I am reporting a crime at my school." "Oh, you live in Reverse City so call their PD." "Hello Reverse City PD?" "The incident happened in Goaway, so go to their PD." "Hello Goaway PD?" "The district headquarters are in Runaround, you need to go to their PD." #txlege

(Multiple entities should INVESTIGATE!) This stuff happens more often than anyone would believe because there is n-o-b-o-d-y there to help. Without weighing in on this particular matter - we haven't seen the evidence - we'll speak generally. We NEED a Parent Ombudsman or immediate legal assistance for parents and students who are being wrongfully treated. We NEED meaningful personal, professional, and financial consequences to deter misconduct and bring justice. We NEED to eliminate or seriously limit in loco parentis. We have SROs. The location of a child does not eliminate their or their parents' God-given rights. We NEED clear limits on the use of taxpayer-funded legal counsel. Administrators should not be able to use taxpayer-funded attorneys to defend conduct that violates the law or constitutions. (Which trustees SWEAR under oath to uphold and defend.) We NEED boards to vote on the use of legal counsel on legal strategies, so we can hold THEM accountable with OUR vote. It is NEVER part of a public servant's job to violate someone's rights, retaliate, or discriminate. And it should never be considered part of a trustee's job to use taxpayer dollars to protect or perpetuate such conduct. The Educator Code of Conduct already recognizes violations of law, policy, and certain forms of misconduct as grounds for accountability. So what happens when the people responsible for enforcing those standards don't? If a superintendent KNOWS a subordinate violated board policy, state law or constitutional rights, WHY ARE THEY NOT REQUIRED TO REPORT THE MISCONDUCT to SBEC, HR & the school board? What about the harmed child? Parents should be able to make ONE PHONE CALL and reach an independent Parent Ombudsman who can help them understand their rights, intervene when appropriate, and help them navigate the system. But we need a system that functions in a way that values the constitutions and compliance with law. We NEED STATE ENFORCEMENT! The IG can't do it all. We can't keep up with the stories of despair and alleged misconduct coming out of our public school system, unchecked. Can you? #txlege Let's #GoAtTheRoots and fix this. Everyone in LEO needs education on what crimes to consider charging and include the feds. DAs need to tell Lege where it's having problems prosecuting so laws can be fixed. Who knows what the current law says about these two practices which have to end? 1. Local police: "no, that's for the school police" 2. Or "well, you live in that other town, so go tell them" and then your town police saying, "well, the incident happened in the other town, so go tell them." The runaround. (TCOLE, is this considered ethical?) How can the state supplement the budgets for local LEOs and DAs to handle these cases stemming from STATE entities (ISDs)? @TCOLE @KenPaxtonTX @TxDPS

Self-centeredness leads to self-loathing. Self-giving, willing the good of the other, brings purpose and joy. Christians need to lose patience with the costly "Mental Health Crisis" lobby. Look at ONE psychology 101 textbook and understand. There are genuine needs, but we must tread very carefully because those who profit from the perpetuation of mental health problems have no incentive to solve it.

A secure border means locking every door, including the H-1B back door. Fake employers. Sham jobs. Visa mills. Worker exploitation. The loopholes are closing. The raids are real. The handcuffs are ready. Under @POTUS, America First means American workers first.
