This CD-i on Sunday, we feature our second most used #Cdi model after the 220, The 210! Another 200 series consumer model, but is slightly cut down for cost purposes. With a DVC fitted, it gets the job done, and is still a beast, so perfect for under the TV. Do you own a 210?

It seems that we keep reporting on SEGA or Sonic items recently, which isn't a bad thing ofcourse, but we're certainly getting a large mix of SEGA recently, wether it be games or collectibles. Here's a giant 20 inch Metal Sonic toy that's pretty wild! What do you make of it?
🤖 JAKKS Pacific’s 20-inch Giant Metal Sonic is available now at major retailers! It features light-up eyes, 10+ sounds and arm-slashing action, plus an Egg Mobile that pops up after three hits and an included 2.5-inch Sonic figure. #SonicNews

Has it been a year already? While we've still yet to play #Sonic Racing Crossworlds, we haven't yet taken the plunge, it's not that we don't want to, but we always end up buying other games first, however, since it's #SEGAsaturday.... Can anyone convince us further to buy it?
'Sonic Racing CrossWorlds' was released 1 year ago today.

Anyone remember Cyber Sled? It's #Namco's 1993 futuristic Vehicular combat arena arcade game that was ported to Sony's #PlayStation, receiving more recognition. It's one of those early 3D arcade games that went under the radar in the first half of the 90's Have you played it?

Though we're fond of early JP Sonic design, we've always respected Sonic's first redesign by artist Yuji Uekawa. His proportions became taller, more slender, but his attitude stayed the same. It's very late 90's, though has outlasted the classic design What did you think of it?

This Thursday we share Mafia II for #Xbox 360 It's one of those games that really impressed us back in 2010. Capturing those mid 20th century vibes perfectly with vsuals & gameplay realism that were stunning! We think they hold up rather well today Anyone else enjoy Mafia II?

Always been fascinated with the Panasonic 3DO M2, judging by hardware specs, it's very capable, though we often wonder how well it could've performed in the Sony dominated console landscape of the late 90's, after all, power isn't always the answer to sales success Anyone else?

Ever wanted to take a trip to Universal Studios...? If you couldn't get there, #Nintendo GameCube's got you covered, but unfortunately, the experience isn't what you expected, as you'll most likely be spending your time picking up trash! 🤢 Remember the game? Is it that bad?

Quite shocking to think if SEGA was really planning to end Sonic! We often wonder where #SEGA would be now if #Sonic never existed. SEGA has made some fantastic arcade games over the years, but nothings come close to Sonic's hights Would it really have made sense to cancel? 🤔
Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka says the first Sonic movie saved the franchise from cancellation He had previously fought to stop Sega from ending the series

Ever sent a Video Game postcard? In the 90's, they existed as freebies in magazines, such as #SEGA Power! These cards came from the magazines postcard launch & are more commemorative than anything else, usually featuring new games for promotion Own any? Happy #MegadriveMonday

Here you'll see early designs of the #SEGA Megadrive CD add on featured in a Japanese publication during 1990! Though it's just a non official concept rendering of what such a device could look like, it's interesting to see what was in the mindset of the time Who else agrees?
Shown here is an early concept design of the Sega CD for the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive. (~Circa 1990)😎🤘 The design featured the front loading CD-Rom drive, as well as a Bootloader cartridge. This was intended to store the CD-Rom BIOS/OS as well as the Startup interface software.#Sega #Genesis #MegaDrive #retrogaming

Happy #SEGAsaturday! #SEGA GT was SEGA's answer to SONY's Gran Tursimo series during the Dreamcast era, with a followup for #Xbox in 2002 titled, SEGA GT 2002. A year later, it was re-released as SEGA GT Online, now with Online play over Xbox live Worthy rival to #GranTurismo?

Always interesting to see early beta footage from any video game release, but perhaps more so when you've played the release version and can notice the small & often larger changes from between builds, especially when features get cut! Anyone else find it strangely facinating?

It seems that 90's handheld gaming technology was exploring all sorts of strange new ideas, from darn right weird to the incredible, but what amazes us, is that most of these actually work! Some better than others ofcourse What's the most shocking accessory you've ever seen?
Shown here is the Nintendo Game Boy peripheral known as The Barcode Boy (バーコードボーイ)😎🤘 A Japan-only Game Boy accessory released in December 1992 by the company Namcot. As the name entails, it was a barcode scanner that sat on top of the original Game Boy (DMG-01) and used the serial link port. It also required two AA batteries and only worked reliably on the original DMG-01. The player would swipe a game card (or any printed JAN-13 / EAN-13 barcode, through a slot on the device. The scanner read the 13-digit number and sent it to the Game Boy over the serial link port as ASCII data. The game then used those digits as a seed or specific trigger. After a short handshake over the link port, the Gameboy sat silent waiting for a swipe to occur. The scanner would then send the 13-digit barcode number as ASCII data. (30 byte packet.) Players were encouraged to hunt for barcodes on everyday products for random scanning. These would produce unpredictable sometimes powerful, sometimes useless results. Yet another retro tech novelty from the 1990’s.😎👌 #Nintendo #Gameboy #Barcode #retrogaming
