This week, the U.S. Marshals Colorado Violent Offender Task Force (COVOTF) was requested to assist the @CityofAlamosa Police Department in a large-scale, multi-jurisdiction takedown operation of a drug-trafficking organization (DTO) operating in the San Luis Valley.
Over 30 Deputy U.S. Marshals & Task Force Officers along with 14 members of the @CSP_News SOAR team executed search warrants at 3 separate properties and apprehended 12 members of the DTO who had felony arrest warrants issued for them.
A total of 44 firearms were seized in addition to large quantities of illegal narcotics, thousands of dollars in illicit funds, and luxury property purchased with proceeds from narcotics trafficking.
COVOTF members from Alamosa P.D., Alamosa County S.O., @Colorado_DOC, @CBI_Colorado, @FPD_PIO, @PuebloCountySO, @PoliceEnglewood, & @RockyFordPolice teamed with CSP SOAR to execute the search warrants and conduct the arrest actions all in less than 24 hrs. Charges for individuals arrested range from Colorado Organized Crime Control Act (COCCA) - Pattern of Racketeering Activity, to Money Laundering, Unlawful Distribution of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Distribution of Fentanyl, and much more.
We'd like to thank Alamosa P.D. for trusting us to assist with this operation and sincerely hope it helps reduce the amount of organized crime and illicit narcotics plaguing the San Luis Valley.

Homicide Suspect in Custody
Fugitive Robeiker MEJIAS-GONZALEZ, wanted by @Glendale_PD_CO on an arrest warrant for 1st Degree Murder, is back in the U.S. and in custody. On 9/17, MEJIAS-GONZALEZ, a Venezuelan citizen, was detained by @INAMI_mx for not having legal status to be present in Mexico. They also learned he had an active arrest warrant for homicide in Colorado and immediately contacted the @USMarshalsHQ Mexico Foreign Field Office (MFFO). The Colorado Violent Offender Task Force (COVOTF) in Denver was then notified and contacted Glendale PD, who requested assistance from the USMS in returning MEJIAS-GONZALEZ to the United States to face charges.
The USMS MFFO coordinated with INM to remove MEJIAS-GONZALEZ from Mexico and on Tuesday, he was taken into custody by members of the USMS Florida-Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force (FCRFTF) in Miami. He was then turned over to @MiamiDade_SO custody and is awaiting extradition back to Colorado. #FugitiveFriday

Recently, U.S. Marshals from across the country came to our Helitack base to prepare themselves and their K-9s with training on our Douglas County helicopter.
One of the K-9s, Rocky, had to be emergency evacuated on a helicopter after he was shot, taking down a bad guy in Houston. Preparation and partnerships like these keep our community safer.
We are so grateful to be a part of the Colorado Violent Offender Task Force (COVOTF) with the U.S. Marshals Service.

Yesterday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Colorado Violent Offender Task Force (COVOTF) along with @CSP_News SOAR and @HSI_HQ conducted a warrant operation at a residence near E 104th Ave & Fox Run Pkwy in Northglenn. Deputy US Marshals (DUSMs) & Task Force Officers (TFOs) from @Colorado_DOC, @dcsheriff, @BldrCOSheriff, & @GoldenCOPS supported CSP SOAR in safely arresting a party wanted for 1st Deg Murder and additional persons of interest in the case.
Due to the on-going investigation, additional details will be released at a later date.
