Even a small amount of Poa annua can disrupt ball roll in ultradwarf greens, especially during times when Poa annua is growing more vigorously than bermudagrass. More on managing Poa annua on Ultradwarf Bermudagrass Greens in @TnTurfAssoc magazine > issuu.com/leadingedgepubs/do…

Those using soil temperature to time #PoaAnnua applications this fall in Tennessee will likely fair better than those abiding to calendar dates. To say we're off to an atypical start is an understatement! @TennesseeGCSA @TnTurfAssoc @TVSFMA @utextension
The strongest heat dome on Earth right now is sitting on Tennessee. Heat makes air swell. The hotter the dome, the higher the whole atmosphere stacks up. Over Tennessee, the halfway point of the atmosphere is 19,665 feet up. That is higher than over the Sahara. Higher than the Middle East. Higher than anywhere else on the planet. Nashville hit 100 yesterday and is forecast to do it again today.

Thanks to @fried_egg_golf and especially @garrett_TFE for keeping this story in the mainstream. Those of us who use this property know how special it is. It’s integral to the community. Not just golf…cycling, fishing, walking. It’s everything golf in a major city should be.
East Potomac Golf Links was supposed to close today, September 1st, for a major renovation project. But it didn't. @garrett_TFE has the latest ⬇️ (Photo & Video Courtesy: @SaveEastPo, @BeltwayGolfer & @TZurybida)

When most people have a day off, golf course maintenance teams are up early and working hard to get courses ready for play. Thanks for all they do!

One of the most popular items on @ASGCA website; the Life Cycle chart. Realistic timeline for longevity of specific course items, including greens, irrigation system, tees & practice ranges. No 2 courses are the same; but this is a good starting point. tinyurl.com/s7bmbla

Tennessee golf was proudly represented on Capitol Hill for #NationalGolfDay 🇺🇸⛳️ TGCSA members Mark Stovall, Jay Willis, Bart Cash, Grayson Guthrie, and Paul Carter met with leaders and staff from the offices of Senator Bill Hagerty, Representative David Kustoff, and Representative Chuck Fleischmann to continue conversations surrounding the $1.9 billion impact golf has on the state of Tennessee. The group discussed the economic, environmental, and community benefits golf provides across Tennessee, while advocating for the continued growth and support of the game statewide. Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet with our team and support golf in Tennessee. #NationalGolfDay
