She's not "compromising" on abortion, she said that she still supports Roe but she'll not be able to overturn conservative laws with the R legislature so she'll only focus on bipartisan reforms to the total abortion ban. The pro-choice position would win in Texas in a referendum.
I wrote in the NYT a few months ago that red state Democrats have to be willing to compromise on abortion.

It is not well-known, but the Zionist movement co-opted the leadership of the Displaced Person (DP) camps in Germany, Austria & Italy after WWII.
They imposed a draft among Jewish males 18-35 in the DP camps in November 1947, a draft for a country that didn't exist yet, a draft imposed on holocaust survivors against their will.
@mollycrabapple writes about this episode in her book, Here Where We Live Is Our Country.
“In the end, she writes, "Zionists imposed the draft by force. It was shocking, said the Bundist newspaper Unzer Shtime, “that Jews, the standard victims of Fascism and terrorism, would be capable of the kinds of violence Zionists in the camps exercise toward their Bundist and other non-Zionist political rivals.”
She continues:
"Bundists and other non-Zionist Jews told stories of night raids and mob beatings. Bundists in the Bad Reichenhall camp claimed Zionists publicly whipped a draft dodger, then took photos to frighten others into compliance.
In a camp near Ulm, Germany, Zionists beat the elderly fathers of sons who avoided the draft. Conscription continued until April 1949, at which point recruits from DP camps made up a third of the new Israeli army.”

I seriously don't think Abbott is viewed positively overall like this poll shows (+1). Even against Beto in 2022, Abbott was underwater on favorability, but Beto was even further underwater. Other polls have shown a different picture, though.
