I'm sure this means more token efficient models are coming, probably GPT-6 Sol. But Tibo's reply comes across as arrogant. People are paying $200/month, burning through their usage in a couple of days and openly complaining about it while OpenAI says nothing. Maybe acknowledge the problem before being smug about the solution? If this is even a solution. Tibo seems like a good guy and I love Codex, but read the room brother.

Reset + more efficient model incoming. I don’t think they’re gonna release it no resets. Everyone’s been complaining nonstop for days. Tibs response comes off as confident, like he has something for us we’ll really like and we just don’t know.

people are also using the AI to do entire workflow replacements, instead of letting themselves do any of the work, and also using it to do dumb shit like creating 3d models in blender "just because" granted the usage limits are strict, but like most of these people have no chill

I've actually built (not vibecoded) a alternative to youtube back in my early career. the simple truth is, your not going to get anyone off of youtube without a major work.. its like a social media platform, i can build you a facebook, doesnt mean your going to see fb numbers

I mean, they reset it sunday i believe... but the usage limits are really bad.. I used to be able to do atleast a couple hours of work on small features that would be useful, brainstorm with the AI and then do other things and now im stuck to a few prompts every 5hrs

Take the time to try out model agnostic set ups. What does codex give you that you can’t do with an open source harness? In my Totem I have it set up so I flip between high end cloud, cheap cloud and local all in the same workspace. Cost of a sub can go way longer this way

The problem is that an open source harness needs a lot of configuration to make it any kind of valuable to the high end cloud models. I've tried extensively to get local setups to work well for me, but i always fall short of anything thats worth while

Not for sell, build software that you own, like in the 2000s, with specially trained models that run even on older machines. For many things like writing, information grabbing and analyzing, but no coding. User owns software, runs it on his machine. No Saas, data full private.

I absolutely love the @ChatGPT desktop app. 💕 I have to hand it to @OpenAI, this is a brilliant piece of software. Highly polished! My only criticism is the pointless separation of Chat, Work, and Codex. This is a usability mess.

Yes, having the ability to brainstorm using chat, then move into agentic work in the same thread would be a major upgrade to the system. We can brainstorm with chat, do the agentic work with Astra etc etc.
