The "Charlie Kirk was shot with a .30-06" rumor: A little over a year ago, some officers were looking for an active, armed shooter, in Utah, when they stumbled upon a towel in a wooded area. (Apparently, these officers didn't have their body-cams on as they were looking for the active shooter, or we'd have seen footage of them coming upon the rifle, wrapped in a towel, in situ. Alas, we haven't seen that footage..) Then, @scrowder breaks the news that a .30-06 rifle was found. Before Newsday. Before the Wall Street Journal. And, Low and Behold, the "Charlie Kirk was shot with a .30-06" rumor began.. The rifle that was found in the woods did not fire the bullet that killed Charlie Kirk, and there is no concrete, definitive ballistic evidence that it did. In fact, there is no evidence THAT rifle was ever on the Losee Center rooftop. Ever. In fact, there is no ballistic evidence that a shot was fired from the Losee Center rooftop, with ANY weapon. This is the clearest video I have seen proving medics were on scene at UVU but were waived off so that Charlie could be tossed into the Black SUV and his security detail could do god knows what to him.
